2015 Ravens UDFA Signings

244 posts in this topic

have you looked at his tape? guy's a relentless rusher, crazy motor. Maybe he'd be a guy like McClellan that'll switch between teh two positions but based on his tape i think it'd be best to let him rush. He can gain weight, thats not a huge issue regardless

Yeah that's what I meant.  Sorry I wasn't more clear there.  I was looking at him as a McClellan type that could potentially see time at both.

Who do we have that can be our KR besides Camp?

UDFA DeAndre Carter

I'm not sure if we risk 1st rounder on returns but Ravens might be tempted to utilize Perriman's speed.

Yep, they both returned but mostly punts. I thought RavensFanMania meant KR specifically.

they've both returned kicks before as well, and i don't recall Camp ever returning a kick last year, only punts even in the preseason

Nice point on Asa, but I hope Webb isn't returning kicks and punts. He needs to stay healthy, or else we get put in a not as bad but similar situation to last year at corner.

probably more about not wearing our guys out

Or maybe even a little pressure to get Tucker's agent to agree to a deal.

Not gonna lie, Jerry Lovelocke is a great name. He'll fit right in with Phillip Supernaw, Crockett Gillmore (still my favorite), Ladarius Webb and, of course, MaXX Williams (so extreme).

Could you imagine if we'd drafted Jesse James instead of Nick Boyle...the names of our tight ends alone would have been out of this world lol.

I wonder if La'el Collins would consider coming to Baltimore after his legal problems are figured out. We couldn't offer him a starting job in 2015, but 2016 and forward would be his to lose. I'm probably dreaming though; he could be an immediate starter on a lot of teams as a guard, maybe a RT on a few others. Of course, whether or not Ozzie and Steve would want to take him in is a different story.

/edit: I just read that Rex Ryan met with him today, so I guess he is already being pursued as a UDFA

Maybe in Madden  ;)

I'll be thoroughly surprised if Collins does not end up with the Saints. I just don't see how you can grow up in LA, go to school in LA, and not have an affinity for the Saints. Usually in these situations, the players favorite team will be the selection. Unless there is some outside force that had him rooting for another team growing up, I'll say with pretty good confidence that he is a Saints fan.

Another way that he could pick another team, is if there were friends/ LSU Tigers on a different team persuading him to join their team. Problem is, for the Ravens anyways, I can't think of one person from LSU, of the top of my head, that is on our roster.

Rex Ryan is having dinner with him it's reported. He is trying to schmooze him into signing with the Bills presumably. Rex is a player's coach who can have his way with young impressionable minds, especially vulnerable ones. So, my money is on him signing with the Bills. I absolutely hate the fact that he is preying on him at such a vulnerable time!

Yeah with Ozzie and his Apabama players, I am not holding my breath on getting him as Alabama LSU is probably the closest thing to Ravens Steelers in college football right now.

Either way, it's a win win but this kid would really have to impress (and then some) to make tucker or his agent worry. Almost a guarantee he'd get a better offer elsewhere if given the opportunity

I love Za'dareus Smith a lot! Every time I saw Dupree's highlights prior to the draft, this 94 kid was always around helping make sacks happen for Dupree. In fact the tape that was supposed to highlight Dupree highlighted Za'dareus much more! To think that we got him in the 4th and he may end up being a better NFL player than Dupree just makes my heart warm!

Are you talking about the video above? There wasn't one play where Smith looked better than Dupree, hence which it is why it's Dupree's highlight real.

Sometimes theres this outside force called money that motivates these decisions.

There is a max that teams can offer to UDFA. All 32 teams have probably offered him the max that he can receive. It would be pretty dumb for any team in the league to not offer him a contract.

Surprised nobody mentioned this yet, but we signed the other ECU WR across from Justin Hardy, Cam Worthy, to a three-year deal. Aaron Wilson is reporting it, anyway.

Pretty nice pick-up, and makes our WR competition even tougher. Man, it's going to be tough to crack the line-up for these guys.

Starting to think the only Safe Spots are Smith Sr. and Perriman...Everyone else is being put on notice.

How is offering him a chance to be on an NFL team taking advantage of him?

I was just bitter and jealous is all. I wished it were one of our coaches doing it instead!

Very interesting prospect, looks pretty much identical to Aiken to me. Like a poor mans Strong. Great at contested catches, great body control, good hands. Hard to say how he'll do though

Check out Shane Carden's film against Va Tech(unless you are a hokies fan like me :( ) and you will see a really nice game from Worthy, he came up big in that game against good competition.
