Welcome to Baltimore: Za'Darius Smith, Javorius Allen and Tray Walker

Carr or Joseph would be great additions for this team. Joseph has instant chemistry with Lewis, who could lure him here.

Where are the reports of Joseph possibly being cut coming from?

I dunno about that, but it would be hilarious if Smith ends up better than Dupree.

Some Steelers fans are already claiming that Jesse James is going to be better than Maxx

Well, we can play that game too

Sure, like Shazier was better than Mosley

I could not find anything, anywhere. Someone in our official draft thread posted that but I think it was speculation only due to Joseph's cap figure.

I'm not sure but we'll know for sure if he is starting game 1 lined up against Demaryius Thomas. lol

If Tray Walker is lined up against Demaryius Thomas at any point during game 1 of this season then terrible things will have transpired during the camp and preseason that I am not prepared to contemplate.

Probably just fan speculation that amounts to nothing. I haven't heard anything either. I'd assume they'll keep him to have Joseph, Jackson and Johnson. It's not like they're hurting on cap ATM. Johnson can work as a NCB and then take over next year, when Joseph will be a free agent.

Interesting piece on Tray Walker. The more I look at this guy, the more I love this pick. I love his measurables and potential.

I saw it in a LFW article the other day that someone posted it and it wasn't a poster who comes down here often, so I was really confused. I would be thrilled to take him or Carr, but I didn't see any reports.

Yeah but he still better than Claiborne and unless some solid corners get cut then I don't expect The Cowboys to release him. I think The Ravens will be in for another off season where no solid corners are cut and will have to rely on their own guys but atleast this time they actually got a corner from the draft.

Claiborne is much cheaper. Comes down to money. Smith, Romo, and Dez are a huge part of the cap.

At least those 2 were generally close in talent and only a few picks apart. Comparing Maxx to Jesse James is like us saying Nick Boyle is better than Heath Miller.

Steelers fans remind me of a little kid who missed out on the last slice of pizza and tries to convince his friends that his stalk of celery actually tastes better than the pizza and he didn't want it anyway.

Colbert apparently didn't even want Maxx. His eyes were on Golson all along, that's why he took 9:50 to pick 5'9" CB

Exactly, they were definitely scrambling and discussing the next couple prospects on their board after Maxx got selected. If they planned to take Golson they wouldn't have needed nearly the entirety of their allotted to turn in the card, that's just a dead giveaway. Look how fast Dallas turned in their card when they legitimately planned to take Byron Jones in the 1st.

The real answer is that it just makes their entire FO look bad if they admit their arch rival jumped them for their highly coveted prospect. Why would they willingly admit that and bring on a load of negative attention from their fan base when they can just as easily say "Nah, weren't gonna take him anyway". Anyone who takes Colbert at his word on something like that is a fool, it's just common sense not to admit to something like that publicly.

I'm hearing mixed reports about PIT selecting the CB in the 2nd round. I thought I remembered him being selected late, but for some reason, I have read that PIT immediately turned in the pick, so I dunno now.

I remembered them taking all of the allotted time to make the pick when I was watching the draft...then that article in the link says they turned it in immediately, not buying it.

Someone on NFLN mentioned the long time they're taking as well

It's pretty standard stuff. There isn't really much tape on him, so I figured I posted it. His measurables and potential have me really excited though. I like the small school guys.

i know allen will thrive in ZBS.

Trestman will love Buck Allen. He's a really good pass catching RB. I love how this pick not only fits our scheme, but also our roster and coaching staff.

It is interesting to note that Buck Allen shares the same build and skills (pass catching and blocking) that Forte shined with in Chi-town.

This whole draft just seemed to fall into place like that for us. Need, value, and even scheme all came together for just about every pick. I can't wait to see how it plays out this year.

Za'Darius might just be my favorite player from this draft. From everything I see and read about him he just screams "Raven". Check out this interview. He says his favorite thing to do is stop the run.

Love Zadarius' personality when he talked to the media.

Also Tray Walker covering Perriman in minicamp is straight unfair

Looked like Perriman was cooking walker a little bit in those highlight reels

What else would you expect

I'm really excited about Za'Darius.

He's only been playing football for 5 years yet already looks like a savvy pass rusher with multiple moves and ability to counter when he doesn't win immediately. Even when he's pushed outside he shows patience, keeps his eyes locked on the ball carrier and re-establishes an angle to attack.

He doesn't have the pure athleticism that his bookend has... Doesn't have the greatest burst, hips or closing speed but he wins with intelligence and technique.

So his ceiling might not be as high as a guy like Dupree but because of how he achieves success I think his floor is far higher than most. He should have success immediately as a rotational guy. Really like him to fill in McPhees role.
