I wasn't really impressed with his burst off the line. He has pass rush moves, but I think he's more of a Sam LB like Upshaw than a dynamic pass-rusher like McPhee, not that becoming another Upshaw is a bad thing.

In just watching one game,I agree. Late off the snap routinely

Imo ZDS is a mix between McPhee and Upshaw. He has McPhee's size but lacks the burst McPhee has in his first step. He makes up for that with strength, like Upshaw, but unlike Courtney (and even McPhee when he came into the league), ZDS already has a strong understanding of hand placement and leverage, has a variety of pass rush moves, and sinks his hips well to pivot off of blocks.

Net, I think he could develop into an even better hybrid than McPhee, combining Upshaw's edge setting presence with McPhee's ability to move around the line for sacks.

Send it to every Steelers fan out there so they know we got a more effective player in the 4th round than they did in their first! Not saying Dupree is bad or anything, just saying I like Za'darius a little more!

What was up with all of their conference calls (and the later picks, too) being droned out by whichever draft coverage was blaring in the background? Lots of needs for repeated questions, pretty dumb of the assembled media.

I love high motor players, I feel like it's one of the best Pro's to have. Smith is a guy I liked a ton and I'm so pumped that we got him.

All of these guys seem like players the FO were proud to pick - especially Walker who seemed like a deep sleeper

Their thinly veiled giddiness about Walker reminds me of the vibe coming out of the Castle when we drafted Webb. They really think they got one there. I hope so too.

I love all three of these picks. Smith and Allen were two underrated players who are great depth players for the Ravens with a chance to be big contributors immediately.

I don't know much about Walker, but the FO clearly likes him. His measurables are very impressive, but the question is just how ready he is to come in and compete for the 3rd CB. At that point in the draft, it's hard not to like a guy with his upside.

After we missed on corner in first couple rounds, we were not likely to find a guy that will immediately contribute later in the draft. Walker is all upside pick but seems to have a lot of talent paired with speed and size.

We're most likely signing a vet later on.

Word on the street is Brandon Carr is probably getting cut from Dallas after they added Byron Jones. He'd be a good pick up.

Carr or Joseph would be great additions for this team. Joseph has instant chemistry with Lewis, who could lure him here.

I'd prefer Carr due to age. Joseph is 31, but I'd take either.

I'm still pulling more for Joseph. I just like guys with established chemistry since it's less adjustment even if they're both veterans. I think Carr might be a better fit, though, but that's not certain. Regardless, I don't care; I'd like either

I'd be OK with either. Joseph would be plenty cheaper I imagine but except for one post on this board, I haven't seen any mention of a possibility of his release anywhere.

question about buck, how does his patience and vision look for the zone stretch? i havent looked really in depth at him, but from what ive seen so far it looks like he saw alot of success running a inside zone, does anyone know if he has the intangibles to be a instant success in the stretch zone or will there be a big learning curve for him?

I'm excited about Tray Walker's potential.  He got the scout's attention coming from a small school.  Once he gets some top notch NFL training, this kid could be special.

Texans just drafted Kevin Johnson in the first, and Joseph has a massive cap hit. You should know since I traded him to you in the Forum Mock.  :P

I know that - 8.5 mil - but Joseph and JJ Watt were welcoming committee for Johnson on his arrival to Houston. And no news outlet reported any even rumours about possible trade or cap saving cut.

It usually takes time for a  rookie corner to get adjusted to The NFL but I'm not sure if Dallas is in the right position to cut Carr even with his huge salary. If they cut him it only leaves them with  Orlando Scandrick,  Byron Jones, and Morris Claiborne as their starting corners. Claiborne is still recovering from a acl tear and hasn't lived up to expectations.

I like the Tray Walker pick and he may surprise us on how far along he really is but we shall see.

I think we got Walker to really specialize in covering TEs. He has ideal traits for the assignment.

If that's the case, he has the perfect training partner in Maxx Williams. If those 2 can up each others game ... how great is that?

What I like about Walker from the little tape that's out there is that he shows outstanding technique which is a result of individual effort/skill rather than competition. You see great press and off man. You see fluid hips, tracking and ball hawking ability. More than anything, you see the ability to diagnose plays and stay disciplined. Combined with the fact that you can't argue with his measurables for the NFL level, he gives you something to he excited about.

Tray Walker isn't related to Frank Walker is he??

I'm not sure but we'll know for sure if he is starting game 1 lined up against Demaryius Thomas. lol

Carr is almost extremely expensive for dallas and has been relatively meh at best.

Yeah but he still better than Claiborne and unless some solid corners get cut then I don't expect The Cowboys to release him. I think The Ravens will be in for another off season where no solid corners are cut and will have to rely on their own guys but atleast this time they actually got a corner from the draft.

The more I read and see about Za'Darius Smith, the more I'm liking this kid...could be one of the real steals of this draft for us. Has the potential to have as good of, if not better, career than his team mate Dupree.

I wonder if Smith and Dupree will now have a rivalry to prove who's the better player. Lol

I dunno about that, but it would be hilarious if Smith ends up better than Dupree.

Some Steelers fans are already claiming that Jesse James is going to be better than Maxx

Well, we can play that game too
