Welcome to Baltimore Maxx Williams TE

Just saw his "intro" with Garreth Downing, what a cool, mature kid at 20 years of age! Very exited with this pick, also he looks a little like Corey Taylor from Slipknot #FYI #GORAVENS

I like the number choice of 87, I'm sure he will make a few plays this year that remind us of Gronk with that 87 on. I don't think his ceiling is quite as high as Gronk or Graham but this kid is still going to be an upper tier TE in this league for a long time.

i think he's a going to be a better overall football player then jimmy graham..hes got better hands then him and blocks better

gronk is another story..altho i do see maxx as a greg olsen/dennis pitta/owen daniels hybrid.

thats not too shabby is it :)

Something to keep in mind is the 5th we used to trade up to grab him was one of the two we got from Detroit for Ngata. The other two 5th rounders we had were compensatory and not tradable so we really needed that pick.

Wait, he picked 87? So does that mean those elusive few people who bought a Demetrius Williams jersey can bring it out again?

Have you noticed how he spells his name with 2 X's?  I like it because it is the same as our new 20 year logo and I have no idea who came up with the nick-name "Mad Maxx Williams" but I like it.......

That's possible. Graham has honestly been overrated as an all around player. Sherman's assessment of him being soft is pretty valid. He's no Gronk.

How good is this kid really? He is a very well spoken confident young man! He is still young enough that he can still grow, put on muscle and become the unstoppable force at TE that we've been looking for since Todd Heap. A complete catching/blocking TE finally! Now, if only Pitta's health allows him to come back imagine our offense - wow!

Maxx Williams, Crockett Gillmore, Phillip Supernaw or Nick Boyle, with a very slim chance of Pitta contributing.

TE is no longer a weakness.

ok I'll tell you what. He's a mix of Greg Olsen/Owen Daniels

Btw..i had Pitta as the best route running TE to come out of the draft in many years..and Maxx isn't far behind in that regard

I think he compares to Olsen or Rudolph.

hes a much much better route runner than rudolph

He's got his toughness and nice hand though. I'd say similar receiving abilities to Olsen.

I hope he can be a great player for us. I'm a little worried about having a new TEs coach, though. Pariani really helped us last year.

Im so pumped about Maxx Williams. The dude has OVER 10 inch hands! Bigger than most o-linemen. Add that with his rediculous long arms and wingspan. I liked him so much I wanted us to draft him in the first round. Good thing we didnt because Breshad Perriman is a beast, also. People are cutting Perriman short which I dont see why. Hes tall and fast. Think of a mix between Torrey and Q. He stopped dropping passes the more experience he had. I expect Perriman to be a flat out stud. I predicted that before we even drafted em.

i like ur enthusiasm but a mix between torrey and q is just not accurate at all lol.

the most accurate comparison i have seen is demaryius thomas, i also understand michael irvins comparison of andre johnson, very similar styles of play and build, johnson too was considered raw coming out of college, with some refinement and practice on the jugs machine i think he will be every bit as good.

Watch Perriman will have a Kelvin Benjiman-like season for Joe.

This is the maxx Williams thread

I'm just saying Torrey and Q for the people that dont know about Perriman. Torrey Smiths speed and Anquan's size. Breshad is big and tall is what I'm trying to say. Its not too often that you find a 6'2", 212 pound reciever that runs a 4.24. And hes only 20 years old so you know he'll bulk up. I wouldnt compare him to Andre neither. I would compare him more to a Julio Jones honestly. Anyway, focus drops are easy to fix. He has good hands, he just doesnt look the ball in before he bolts.
