Welcome to Baltimore Maxx Williams TE

Flacco is seriously aroused from the these first two round picks. Williams is going to light some LBers up trying to cover him.

Well there was another term but I wanted to keep it PG.

If I weren't on a mobile phone I'd put up the Simpsons "Won't somebody think of the children!" Line

I think ESPN showed an infographic that said that over 80% of Maxx's receptions were for either first downs or touch downs.

Love the pick. Can we please work on CB and Pass Rush now....PLEASE!

I mean we wanted Peters in the 1st and KC shocked a lot of people and took him, first wave of corners was gone at 26 (Unless you count Byron Jones which I don't). In the 2nd we had a no brainer trading up to take Maxx Williams just great value, fit for our team, and fit the biggest position of need. In the 3rd guys like Rollins, PJ Williams, Carter didn't make it to us and we picked the BPA.

Just the way the board has fallen I guess. I really wanted a corner early too but we had to take what the board gave us.

Steelers take Bud Dupree from us,  we take Maxx Williams from them!

Not only that but it seems the Steelers may have panicked when we took Maxx and reached for a need.

This is a quote from the Pittsburg Post Gazette

Golson, the little cornerback, seemed surprised to be taken in the second round. “I had no idea they would pull the trigger on me this early.”

I guess they tried to emulate Ozzie with the BPA but their boards aren't like his

I love this pick just as much as the first rounder and probably more once you view these two as a packaged deal. I think they both compliment what we already have as an offense. This guy is young and has the makings of a stud. Obviously you'd love to see Pitta come back healthy, but as a 30 year TE with serious injury history, he may never be the same Pitta again. But even if he doesn't come back healthy, I still love the idea of pairing Maxx and Crockett together in 2TE sets. That doesn't even talk about the options you have with Maxx drawing bracket coverage down the seams and being able to sneak a guy like Juice underneath.

Also we talk about value, early in the draft process people were saying Maxx Williams might be our pick at 26 and to get him a full round later with only a 5th round pick as an extra investment was great value. I really like the mindset behind these top two picks. The Ravens really attacked both these guys and seemingly for the first time put a focus on supplying their franchise QB with some franchise weapons.

The Top TE in the draft...... with Pitta still in question and Daniels in Denver, TE was a need. rumor had it that the Steelers had their minds set on taking him and the Ravens leap frogged to one spot ahead and picked him. ......leaving the Steelers stumbling to what to do next.... using almost ALL time on the clock on their choice, they had to scramble....

have to admit I chuckled

Maxx Williams is a real playmaker. He's actually got a bit of pitta and daniels in him but a better blocker

he is a sure bet pro bowl tight end.

Perriman is the one i don't trust right now..i trust maxi

agreed he looks a lot like witten which is a good deal.

if he comes close or matches witten we are talking about an all pro perhaps HOF caliber player.

this is 1 hell of a pick up.

and people doubted ozzie for not signing a TE or WR in FA lmao.

i see alot of zach miller and heath miller in this guy, but with a higher ceiling just because his ability to catch impossible passes is insane, he is just so good at snatching up everything thrown anywhere near him, he has great YAC, he is tough as nails, agile and sudden and knows the route tree and excels on quick strike play action passes, and seems especially great at the good ol' redzone quick seam, which is big news because that is joes absolute best throw, he loves being able to fire the seam to the inside shoulder when were inside the 20, and being able to put it out of reach for the db and still have confidence that it will be caught is huge, we saw it alot with pitta and boldin and it was lethal

DeCosta said that they thought Maxx Williams could have been taken in the 1st or early 2nd.

Also just found out that Maxx Williams was an Academic All-American!!

Also 'aroused' about this one not many TEs come out of college with his ability to drag and tap the toes on the sideline. Reminds me of Heap in many ways.

I really like how this pick will also help Perriman develop slowly. He just has to be a home run threat really for now. We have solid possession receivers and now throw in Williams (28 of 36 reception went for TDs or first downs last year), and Perriman can really take his time to develop his route tree and work on those drops.

i think he's better than both..he's more fluid in his movement ..i don't mean strait line speed..but cuts and stuff

Love it

crockett sells himself short in the passing game..he can catch and is a very good blocker obviously

maxx hasn't reached his physical prime yet but he's a very good blocker too. he has no weakness..if he was built like gronk he would be the best TE in the game.

alas,,we could had gronk

but the power of terrence cody came to the fray :)
