Welcome to Baltimore Maxx Williams TE

I'm surprised no-one else started this. Either way, we get another huge linchpin for our system and a really nice group between Williams, Pitta, Gillmore and hopefully Gresham as well.

Damn. How can you not be excited by that?

Well I started a Maxx Williams thread in Draft sub-forum, but this one might be better since it's in Ravens talk. :P

Gotcha'

anything else ?

From what i'm reading and have seen of him, honestly looks like a Pitta/Heap mix if that make sense

I could see him becoming as good of a blocker as heap and as athletic as heap was back in the day and has hands and offensive flexibility like pitta

And can definitely move the chains like both

This is the pick that has me excited.  I wasn't a fan in the 1st round, but the value is perfect in the 2nd.  It helps that we screwed over the Steelers at the same time.

Just so pumped about this pick. He is a freakish player. A playmaker on tough games. You can count he will be highly productive for us.

So great to get him in the 2nd. For a 5th it's a serious steal.

While also hurting Pittsburgh in the process makes it so much sweeter.

Agreed. He is also young, so hey, maybe he improves. It's a nice contrast and great value in the 2nd.

Welcome Maxx!

Get Pitta healthy and we've got great depth at the position and diversity. Maxx is a very good blocker and great pass catcher so love that versatility.

We can run 2 TE sets effectively now and be dangerous running or passing out of it. First 2 picks are guys that do their best work on 3rd down.

Move those chains! Go Ravens!!

Our play action is going to be dirty.... I can't wait to see him move the chains. He can go deep too, so we're gonna have some serious flexibility with how we attack defenses....Add him to a progressed Gilmore & Juice, and maybe even Pitta, and that's a nice group of young receivers/blockers.

I'm more excited about this pick than Perriman. This offense has a lot of potential.

I'm extremely excited for this guy. Great hands and catch radius. Big-bodied and physical down the middle target. Good physical blocker. Has an insane family lineage of athletes to boot. He'll be great for this team and system.

Squealers are livid not only about missing out on Maxx Williams but getting a 5'8 176lb corner

We got a playmaker at TE, he may never be Gronk or Graham but I do see him being in the next tier down like Olsen, Witten, Vernon Davis type but it may take him a few years to progress to that point. This offense needed a spark after losing Torrey and Daniels and it just got 2 sticks of dynamite instead. Big, athletic, fast, mismatch creating weapons for Flacco.

Flacco is seriously aroused from the these first two round picks.  Williams is going to light some LBers up trying to cover him.
