Great pick...wanted a edge rusher, but if we went WR, this is the type of WR i wanted, big and fast...extremely rare combo....

Nothing but the best for him-However " Perriman doesn%u2019t come without risk.

The biggest knock on the 21-year-old wideout is he drops too many balls. Pro Football Focus has his drop rate at nearly 14 percent, and Hensley says anything over 8 percent is %u201Ctypically an issue.%u201D This means that if the ball hits his hands 50 times, he drops it 7 times. Great news that the Ravens have added a receiver that catches the ball 86 times out of 100.

Wow, we finally went for it, 1st round.

Well, I am looking forward to how the competition shapes up amongst our receivers. This is a win-win. Brown, Aiken and Camp are hitting the weights and treadmill right now. Position battle, here we come.

That 'random dude giving a short golf clap' is Byron Jones whom the Cowboys picked with the next pick after the Ravens. Looks like you did your homework..........

Interesting to know that they weren't going to pick Shane Ray- I thought he would be hard to pass up and thought they really favored him. I'm glad though- I don't like the idea of drafting first round players with off the feild concerns- let alone a lingering toe injury.

I'm stunned we went there [WR] but our Board for Day 1 had been picked like a leftover Thanksgiving turkey carcass!

I am also thrilled that we got a guy who may have that aggressive edge we've lacked between Q's departure and Smith's arrival! No knock on Torrey, but he wasn't that aggressive!

Here goes that word again "potential". I really hope this guy works out, but given the Ravens awful history of drafting WRs, and his penchant for pass dropping, it is a huge risk. Besides, we didn't lose to the Patriots by not having a WR. We lost because our secondary stinks. Then we see the available players, and lo and behold, the Ravens don't take the CB that they need. Dallas took him with the next pick. Two picks later the best S on the board is gone. Sorry to disagree but I think we missed the boat again.

To be honest I was disappointed when I saw his name on mock drafts to the Ravens and especially when we picked him. I was really hoping for Dupree to fall but it didn't pan out that way. With that said, I didn't know much about Perriman but after looking at his highlights I have a lot of excitement and hope that he can develop into the stud #1 receiver we've all been dreaming and hoping to get. To me, he's a combination of Boldin and Torrey, and I'm excited to see this guy develop into a top guy in the league. We have the organization, coaches, QB and veteran receiver (Smith) that give Perriman all the tools to become the best player he can be. Personally, I love the highlights of this guy going through the middle of the defense and also being able to burn defenses on the outside. Go Ravens, welcome to B More Perriman!

not sure why anyone is upset about this pick, all i heard over the last month was get Joe weapons, we need someone to replace Torrey's speed....We hit the daily double with a 4.24 40 guy who happens to be 6-2 212.....And the drops, they came early, he finished the season strong, and at his pro day he didn't drop a thing....Every player drafted has pros and cons, i happen to think this guy can be groomed to be a stud....JMO...

But that's the problem Fastynart... too many fans think we should take players to "catch" the guys we lost to. That's an incredibly awful way to run a franchise, and in particular, one that I guarantee gets a GM fired. Every single player left on that board was "risky" (outside of maybe Malcom Brown). Corners and safeties, regardless of where you take them, are incredibly risky. I'd argue its the riskiest position of any that you can draft.

We aren't in a position where one pick in this draft is going to instantly make us SB favorites, nor are we in a position where we MUST get a great player in the first round in order to be good. If you think using any draft pick (even a first) on a corner and he is going to come in and shut down even mediocre WRs in this league, then you're being incredibly naive. Any player I'm taking at 26 I'd expect to struggle in his rookie season, regardless of position. Taking a corner at 26 would change largely nothing for me as far as making the 2015 Ravens a lot better.

I just don't like the phrase "Boom or Bust" because in my opinion that title could be placed on every single draftee. Truth be told all of these guys are a risk. There is no guarantee that any of these guys make it at the NFL level no matter how good they were in college.

Randy Gregory in the 2nd anyone?

Just don't think we pull this trigger because of all the baggage.

I'm really starting to hear more chatter from Harbs and the FO regarding Steven Means, prototype size for a edge rusher...6-3 260, convert him to a OLBer like we did with McPhee, and could have the ability to play with his hand in the dirt as well.....Will be watching this guy closely this year....

He looked very comfortable and fluid running the crossing routes which is a plus, our bubble screen game got better, whats not to like....:)

It seems that drafting Perriman shoots down the theory that the Raven are "Done with the long ball". It looks like we will continue to stretch the field and use Flacco's big gun.

I'm just glad we didn't stay up all that time just to see them trade out of the first round.

2nd round, Benardrick Mckinney maybe?

I'm hoping we get Randy Gregory, Landon Collins, either of the Florida St. CB's, or my guy Tevin Coleman in round 2.

The only knock IMO, from watching some highlights on him, is he seemed to go down to easily, he has to use his size to his advantage more, and run over the smaller CB's, YAC yards will be huge for him if he can do that.....

I understand concerns around the risks that come with drafting Perriman ... but the bottom line is, you are not going to see a 6'2" big bodied guy that can run a 4.2 - 40 without some flaw. If that guy exists, you will need to have gone 3-13 last year to get a whiff of him.

Quite frankly, I don't give a crap what Torrey Smith says. I don't know why we still cover that money chaser. He walked out on us. I thought that was the end of it.

IMO Gregory needs to put more weight on for a 3-4 LBer IMO ,6-4 237 i don't think would bold well, especially in the AFCN....We tend to play maul ball in our division, and you have to be able to bull rush the large tackles in this league....I think this guy could be a sleeper pick..Ryan Delaire, at 6 foot 4, 257 pounds, ran the 40 in 4.8 in front of scouts at Towson's Pro Day...

Just don't think we pull the trigger (on Gregory) because of all the baggage.

We said we'd have traded out of our pick if Perriman were not available. That implies Gregory was not in our sights at 26. I think it is possible that his baggage may have prevented us from considering him a 1st round guy.

... but if he's there at 26 in the 2nd round, his baggage will not be enough to prevent us from taking him. However, we won't find out, because I cannot fathom that he won't be gone within the first 10 picks tonight.
