Welcome to Baltimore, Breshad Perriman

Think maybe he does that for a reason?  He only needs to state there is an injury.  Opposing teams would love to know if our guys are hurt worst than necessary.  You do realize that opponents do target players that are hurt?

Exactly!Which is more proof that the day to day thing might be BS.I didn't say whether it was a good or bad thing or that there was no reason for it.I just think Harbaugh and the staff know's that the Breshad injury is something that's going to take a month or two to recover from.

I'm hoping to see some of that sarcasm if I'm right and Breshads not ready to go week one.

And we'll all happily accept your crow eating if this doesn't come to pass.

There's no way this injury keeps him out week one. He'll probobly even be back for the 2nd or 3rd preseason game.

Hence why Harbaugh isn't going to reveal that ever..... for opponent purposes.

Its a bone bruise..thats 2-3 months.

You can google that. same everywhere..you might be functional in 3 weeks but it won't be healed enough for a contact sport

Is a strained tendon the same? Worse? Etc...?

Well I hope this kid can return to the field soon. After the injury and reading various quotes I assumed it would missed maybe 3 practices and be good. It's 2 weeks later now. He's missing valuable practice time especially for a rookie WR.

got an MRI last night, results should be announced later today. this makes me nervous

If he is getting an MRI this far into being hurt, he either had a major set back or the injury is simply not healing. Neither scenario is a good thing at all. He may not be available week 1.

i guess today we will know the real deal.. i feel he's probably out for pre season and the first 3-4 games.

its a bone bruise plus a likely ligament strain.

thats 2-3 months.

@JasonColeBR: Source said MRI results for #Ravens WR Breshad Perriman were "normal." Just healing slow. Should be back in a week or so.

how can a bone bruise just be 3 weeks? yeah if you mean functional its 3 weeks but to be fully healed for an athlete? thats at least 2 months.

Because all you're doing is speculating on the extent of the injury. None of us have any idea what he's actually dealing with.

if it indeed is a bone bruise..? If its simply a muscle strain then 3 weeks is about right..

at this point ive almost become too cynical to think normal means anything less than missing the first half of the season lol

Lol you've said the same thing like in your last 3 posts. We get it, according to you and Google, it takes 3 weeks to be functional and 2-3 months to fully heal for contact sport.

Thank you.

I would just wait for an official announcement from the team.

When you were running at full speed did you feel right?

Here comes some much needed optimism.

Luckily we're deep at WR. Not so much speed but I think our offense can survive without it...

Here's how it's going to go down. Perriman will struggle early in the season. Everyone will be freaking out. He'll have a breakout performance mid season and not look back. He'll become an X factor come playoff time.

First of all, a bruise indicates damage regardless and the damage depends on what's affected. If it's a ligament that's bruised then we call that a sprain. If a muscle is damaged then we call that a strain. If a bone is damaged we call that a fracture. I hate terms sugar coating an injury to these affected parts of the body. They often lead to more confusion.

So yes, I'm saying if he has a bone bruise then that's just a minor fracture. Is that a big deal? Eh, maybe, who knows. These are professional athletes used to this high impact sport. As a former soccer midfielder and football defensive back from middle school to early college, I know athletes play through injuries all the time.

I wouldn't panic regarding Perriman.

We have a lot of guys that play the position if that's what you mean. I wouldn't say we're stacked talent wise. I would say Aiken is pretty good but I don't necessarily want him starting. Meanwhile, Brown and Camp are also injury prone and Brown hasn't lived up to his potential after a good rookie year. After that the position is even murkier.

I believe we can get by fine without Perriman but it will be because of our run game and TEs picking up the slack.

Had a bone bruise my sophomore year of college... only missed 2 games.

Didnt practice at all 1st week. Early 2nd week was training and doing individual stuff, able to cut, accelerate/decelerate and by end of 2nd week was back to full sessions. 3rd week I was game ready and probably couldve played end of 2nd week if we had a game.

No issues, no pain, nothing at all when I returned.
