Digital vs Disc

So I was just curious to see the preference people have when it comes to how they buy their games. Plus it can help me decide whether or not I want to keep buying discs or just go digital from this moment on. I'm kinda torn on it because I like going to midnight releases at gamestop and interacting with other gamers but at the same time it seems everything is going digital. You can just log in to PSN/Xbox Live, purchase the game and wait for it to download without having to go to the store. 

 

Just curious to see what everyone's preference is, and hopefully it will make my decision easier in terms of buying a physical disc or just going digital.

Digital download is cool and all but there is nothing like holding a fresh case and disc in your hand for the first time.

Disc for me, i like having the items sitting on my shelf lookin cool

I like discs because when I tire of a game I can re-sell it easily.

I prefer discs because they're a little bit more future-proof than the digital download right now.  There's no guarantee that the download will be available a few years down the road because the manufacturer decides to pull the game off their servers since it's older and no one is dowloading it anymore.  As long as my console works or I find a decent emulator, I can still play my older physical games.

In an update, I went to the Playstation Store and pre-ordered Madden 16 digitally. I don't think I'll buy all my games digitally and may just do a mix of both, digital and disc.

I have to say discs......I pay that much for those games I need to be able to hold it lol. IDk I guess I just haven't gotten used to buying the download yet. I will probably do a mix like you said @JO_75.

Not just for video games but for music too. I still buy and pre-order CDs.

Digital download for me. When I preorder games on Xbox One, I can already download them and they'll be ready at release and I don't have to wait in line or actually get up and go buy a disk, lol. Plus, I like being able to switch games with my controller instead of getting up and taking the disk out and putting another one in and I don't have to worry about the space that the boxes take up either.
