Another excellent point. It's just a good job that Baltimore doesn't have an NBA team anymore.

Baloney , this schedule is a screw job . Period

we're facing the NFC and AFC west(as dictated by the same divisional rotation every single team contends with)... we have to play 8 road games, there are 16 games in the season, and we cannot play home games on the same days as the O's. so no, this schedule is not a screw job, it just is what it is, my friend.

if anything screws us it's that we play in a tough division...but would you really want it any other way?

Could have been spread out on the away games out west .

You are a NFL front office lackey !

The schedule rotates...

I understand that...

Of course it does, but look at the way it plays out early in the season. Denver then Oakland. Shortly thereafter,

49ers and Arizona ,all away!

That's  a screw job like I have never seen before.

Absolutely Jimmy...  I'm with you

How can anyone with a brain look at our schedule then look at Pittsburgh's schedule and say we're getting worked over by the league

the only consecutive road games they have are week 16 and 17 against us and the browns. they only have 2 west coast games, one being after a bye, and they have 3 home games (2 of them against the raiders and browns lol) in a row going into their bye week. how is their schedule any tougher than ours?

Maybe it feels better to win when they tell themselves everyone wants us to lose? Or maybe it hurts less to lose if you think you're being cheated? I dunno.

no tougher than our schedule. colts are completely overrated. steelers always beat the bengals, and we all know peyton in december is not good. @ seattle and @ bmore are the only games that stand out as really tough during that run.

.. and im not stating the "nfl favors" this team or that team, im simply stating their schedule is no tougher than ours. if anything ours is tougher considering the road scheduling.

6/8 of our road games are back to back, and the first two consecutive road trips are a total of 19,340 miles. the steelers have one back to back road trip all season within a total of 760 miles..lol

"Colts are completely overrated" seems to be another one of those common ideas that run around here.. Colts will be good. They have holes to fill but still will be a good team and a tough game

Peyton in December may be different than peyton in September but the broncos are 14-2 in December with peyton as the QB

While the steelers are 4-2 over bengals in past 3 years, those are still tough divisional games and not a guaranteed win by any means

Point is... Schedules aren't meant to be easy. The nfl wasn't out to get the ravens. The ravens don't have it so much harder than everyone else

That's still a brutal run of five games, made even tougher by the fact that it's five of them in a row. Unlike our away games, that doesn't level itself out.

Our away runs are tough, but we also effectively get four straight weeks at the Bank and soon after that a three-game home stand to almost close the season out. The home and away games are always a case of the schedule giveth, and the schedule taketh away. Praise be to the schedule.

Again we agree that the schedule doesn't usually favour or pick on anyone in particular, and certainly not intentionally. But personally, I'd rather have our schedule than the Steelers'.

The Colts always seem to look rubbish on paper, but find a way to win consistently. They're like the opposite of us, who look good on paper but seem to lack consistency. :P

The second half of your schedule is awesome. Back to back home games against two teams you easily should beat The Rams and the Jaguars. I hope you guys smash Seattle. I know you guys will beat them at home. My pack has to go to Mile high to face Denver on SNF. We have Seattle in lambeau week 2. I like our schedule too. Good luck to the Ravens. Take down the Patriots as well. Best wishes on your draft as well.

i wouldnt change our schedule with anyone. no weapon forged against us shall prosper. we'll take the challenge. with that being said, we have one of the toughest schedules in the nfl, and definitely tougher than the steelers. now its time to go to work.

but answer me this... 4 straight weeks at the bank? did i misread that?

Three home games with a bye week thrown in, so it's as good as four weeks (hence "effectively"). I don't think our schedule's comparatively all that tough overall, but that's just me.

opponent wise, not too bad, but travel wise.. extremely tough. and so far as i know, a bye week means no games played anywhere, so its three weeks at the bank.

Good lord... What has happened to our B-More fans. I swear that was a blue collar ashy knuckle city... Seems like a bunch of *insert word that gets me booted here*. We didn't get screwed, we knew who we were playing 10 years ago. And honestly everyone in our division has it bad. And if anything, we should feel bad for the other guys, because they have to play a Ravens team that can't afford to lose.

Good point - how many other teams see the Ravens and say 'aw, crap'?

that's still 4 straight weeks in baltimore with no travel. I agree with you that I don't think the steelers schedule is any tougher than ours, although the analysts on espn seem to think so. What the hell do they know. Just to clarify once again- we DID NOT receive our schedule request with back to back games in the west. Harbaugh asked for oak-San Fran to be played consecutively so we could stay in the Bay Area. Yes we could have figured who our opponents would be long ago , but that doesn't mean that the scheduling of the games means nothing. There are quite a few "coincidences" that could have worked better in our favor, not saying it was done purposefully but it also could have been made a lot better. Yeah They don't want to show favoritism, seems like we never even have to worry about the perception of that. Anyway- I like it this way- like i said if we make it through the first quarter of games with Atleast 3 wins we should be all good. And we will definitely be battle tested for the playoffs. I still don't understand why the road travel schedule is viewed as dis-advantageous?

We already knew we were going to have these road games, so that didn't change. All that changed was the date and time, which I think most Ravens personnel would agree is actually ADVANTAGEOUS the way it shaked out. Basically, we have two long road game trips, and they are lumped together, which is what teams want (hence why Harbaugh asked for it).

Denver and Oakland are back to back. SF and Arizona are back to back. That's a good thing, not a bad thing. If you prefer alternating home/away games every week, then you're not really doing what's in the best interest of the team when you have west coast games.

For me, I care about what QBs we play in the back half of the season. In the second half of the season, the Ravens play the following QBs:

Bortles, Foles, McCown, Tannehill, Wilson, Alex Smith, Roethlisberger, Dalton.... not exactly murderers row if you ask me (and the two toughest QBs, Ben and Wilson, are both in Baltimore).

Pittsburgh conversely, in their last six games, play against Wilson, Luck, Dalton, P. Manning, Flacco and McCown... and the only home games are against probably the best two of the group (Luck, P. Manning).

Good luck. Pittsburgh is the kind of team who might be 7-3 heading into a bye week and miss the playoffs entirely. They'd do well to go .500 in their last six games.

No a couple of years ago, 2012 pretty sure we played them in week 15 I think, just before Coin or the Browns....

Usually play the Steelers around 12/9 ish which is my hubby's birthday. Super Bowl year played the Pats 9/23 my birthday and chewed up the Browns on my sons BD lol. We won the first Super Bowl on my eldest sons BD! except for the SuperBowl the games seem to fall the same every year. Harbs BD is also 9/23 and 2012 he was fist pumping and jumping around-- he liked the BD present the team gave him lol

Surely the whole thing is computer generated and has little human involvement?

Arnie:  There was a guy being interviewed on NFL Network.  He indicated that there has been very little computer generation of the schedule.  That they usually have a "war room" just as the teams do at draft time.....  That there typically are many schedules that are created prior to "the One" being set in stone and released.  I wish I could remember who it was that was doing the interview. That's why the release of it is so arbitrary.

I'd just love a year without the Peyton manning tom Brady matchup

Then let's hope Peyton retires after this season lol. How is it they end up facing each other every year, with the way the schedule rotates, you think they would have played each other every other year or two years.

Both have historically been great QB on quality teams with good enough coaching against weak divisional opponents that help them consistently win their division, making them bound to play each other.
