You act as if you're surprised.

Maybe a little...  the way that they're talking... I know it's hype.

The league doesn't want 3 AFCN teams in the postseason again...  so they made it harder than any other division...  except maybe the NFCW.

Denver's 1600 miles from Baltimore, 1300 miles from San Fran. Sure it's in the West, but nowhere near the coast.

Easterners have absolutely no idea how huge the distances are out here. It takes me 10 hours to drive to my son's, and he's in the same state!

Edit: came off a little snappier than I thought once I reread it

... But I don't live out east anymore. Been out of maryland for 8 years now

Did you read that in the Raven Conspiracy Manual? lol & smh

lol No Harbaugh asked for the coast trips to be together so the team could remain out there. Denver/Oakland is pretty much a slap in the face to that request. Then they do it again with Arizona and San Fran.

"The team is reportedly asking the NFL to schedule their away games at Oakland and San Francisco in consecutive weeks this upcoming season, sparing the team the rigor of two cross-country trips and allowing them to stay put in the Bay Area."

The bye week is good.

You forgot the "maybe" five prime time games as the last 2 are in those shuffle weeks where we can get bumped for Pats or Denver or some darling NFC match-up. They love those.

I highly doubt Pitt or Seattle games will get flexed.. Come on now

And considering how many teams have west coast trips and the fact that west coast teams have to do those trips every year multiple times harbaugh was basically asking for extra privileges

So to just assume we'd get that request is completely off base and makes no sense whatsoever

I didn't, but the way things are stacked...  one might think that of both divisions...  see-ins how they are the two best divisions.

We've known the opponents of each team since the end of last season, they rotate around the divisions and the final 2 games are dependant on where a team places in their division.

As for what we have learned, tough start to the season but then it hopefully gets easier to set up a stretch run.

Could this schedule, which no doubt is the worst in Ravens history,be a little payback for the Ray Rice

scandal?Hmmmm. The way it is arranged with trips to the West makes me wonder a little.

The schedule rotates...

Of course it does, but look at the way it plays out early in the season. Denver then Oakland. Shortly thereafter,

49ers and Arizona ,all away!

That's  a screw job like I have never seen before.

Everyone hates the Ravens, especially Goodell and the NFL. Follow the narrative, dammit.

They do hate the Ravens and we have been in the playoffs now what 5 out of the last 6 years or so.

Time to stop that nonsense! Time to get the Ravens out with some very tiring road trips all the way west!

But the Patsies got the right schedule ,even after deflategate and their ineligible receiver bs .

Baltimore is always dumped on like we are low class hillbillies having sex with their cousins.

We're not dumped on any more than any other team. Take off the purple shades.

Oh, and right, the Pats got such an easy schedule.. Three of their last eight games are home games. But you ignored that because it doesn't play into your narrative that everyone hates us. As for the back to back west coast games, didn't Harbaugh ask for them to be back to back weeks? Pretty sure he requested that so we could stay in the area for that time.

Our schedule really isn't that bad. Ravens fans just like to play the victim. Aren't we tough, blue collar fans? We sure talk like it, don't we?

I hope I'm not the only one who thinks the schedule could be an awful lot worse. Sure the West Coast trips (or western trips for those getting pedantic) are tough, but let's not pretend having to make them was any kind of news flash.

When you start off with away games, the schedule makes up for it with home games later on - and given a choice I'd rather have it this way so we can build up a little form ahead of the playoffs.

And while I'd rather face Peyton later in the year, don't knock the impact a healthy secondary should have.

Harbs specifically requested Oakland & San Fran back to back so they could stay the week in the Bay Area.

Do you really think that is what they're going to do with Denver/Oakland and Arizona/San Fran? Not even close to what Harbs requested.

I have a problem with back to back away west games .They could have spread them out some. Ridiculous1

The NFL knows Peyton is great early on after a lot of rest. So let em play the Ravens then!

NFL-" No we dont want our boy Peyton playing the Ravens in cold weather"!!!!! Remember that MILE HIGH MIRACLE!!!

"WE Don't want no more of that "!

I like our schedule. I love to finish with a stretch of home games, especially in our division. Would've been nice to stay in the bay area but I'm sure the team will work something out.

Sorry, I just don't see adversity as something to whine about. It's just time to go to work.

It's close, and, well, Denver isn't all that far away. It could be worse. Like I said above, we'll figure something out. We just have to go to work. I hope our players aren't as soft as our fans are.

I love the schedule, gonna get tested early but then we get home field advantage on our second half of the year.

Have you heard of the East Coast bias? It's where every West Coast fan gripes about how the league/media/fans love East Coast sides. Look through the forums of the 31 other teams and you'll see their fans saying the same "the league/media hates us and we like it that way". Come off it.

The back-to-back travelling factor is something every West Coast team has to deal with every year. Back-to-back games is good because it means we can stay out west for a couple of weeks rather than keep going back and forth.

Yeah, I like it. Ending away at the Bengals (for like the 99th time in 100 years) is still a little tedious, but certainly nothing sinister.

And there's no reason to think the team can't work it out. Like I say, West Coast teams do it every year. If memory serves, ESPN was talking up Jim Harbaugh for his 2011 regime of just staying on the East Coast during a particularly brutal road trip.

we're facing the NFC and AFC west(as dictated by the same divisional rotation every single team contends with)... we have to play 8 road games, there are 16 games in the season, and we cannot play home games on the same days as the O's. so no, this schedule is not a screw job, it just is what it is, my friend.

if anything screws us it's that we play in a tough division...but would you really want it any other way?

Another excellent point. It's just a good job that Baltimore doesn't have an NBA team anymore.

I'm not even worried about it that much anymore (since there's no changing it) but it's not really close.  Denver and Oakland are about 1,300 miles apart.  The distance from Baltimore to Denver is about 1,660 miles.  Clearly it's a little shorter but that's still a long distance.

To compare, the distance from San Fran to Oakland is 12 miles.  "Please give us a 12 mile week to week commute on the west coast so we don't spend a stupid amount of time traveling".  "No, but this 1,300 mile week to week travel is almost as good".

That said, hopefully the players can deal with it.  They simply don't have a choice.  Doesn't mean fans can't be upset about it though
