I feel bad for the loyal 49ers fans when they know that their players didn't want to push for championship but instead want to get fat paycheck for laying around chilling....

It is a terrible and horrific cancers for all sports......

PS: If you want to get fat paycheck for not trying hard, go apply for 49ers......

Interesting read for sure. Makes me think of a quote from a famous boxer (forget who) but he said "It's real hard to get up at 5am and run 5 miles when you're in a 4 post bed wearing silk pyjamas".

Harbaugh is a great coach, took that team to the next level. I think his style runs in cycles though, which is why he's perfect for College. He motivates, pushes and grinds them to great results ... but it may grind on veteran guys with fat wallets.

Boone's "over the mountain" comment was humorous because, unless you win a SB, you still have a mission to complete.

Seems like he's toeing the company line because, last October, Harbs was his boy. Jim Harbaugh will most likely rip it up in the NCAA, especially once he recruits 'his guys'. I can partially see where Boone's coming from but Jim Harbaugh was the best thing that happened to SF football in a long time - I'll include Stanford in that.

I think so too; those young kids are hungry for their dream job which is playing in the NFL; they will do whatever Jim tell them to......

49ers players said the same thing about Mike Singletary pushing them too hard. So essentially Jed York got rid of the big bad coach who makes the players work too hard, and kept the lazy players who don't want to work too hard. Man, the 49ers players who think Harbaugh is too tough, oh boy. If that's what their problem with Harbaugh was, they better be glad they weren't born sooner and playing under the Chuck Noll's and Vince Lombardi's and the Parcells'.

Those legendary coaches? Boone buddies wouldn't last half a day with one of those guys.....

I didn't know they even complained about Singletary's pushing them to work; that's even hilarious when they had 8 straight losing season before Harbs......It's just a shame to be a 49ers......

It's definitely an attempt to toe the company line. There's no question. The conflicting and contrasting stories either tell me that Boone is a liar (having lied last offseason and telling the "truth" this offseason) or crazy himself, since he clearly said the opposite last year and not much truly changed between now and then to "wear on him" besides them having a losing season according to the standards Harbaugh established.

The same Alex Boone who vigorously defended Harbs from these reports last season...

That just showed his real skins......

Lazy. The 9ers players always need an excuse to work hard. They will never win another SB with players like Alex being the voice of the locker room

I know it's voluntary for players to come but Boone just sounds like a hypocrite. He didn't show up for voluntary workouts, and yet he goes and talks about being pushed too hard. Confirming again he just wants to get paid to do nothing. It's a shame Jed York is going to end up destroying the 49ers because he is going end up letting the inmates run the place.
