I would say both...however, I cannot see it happening and am expecting Yanda extension and Urschel moves in somewhere on the line

That's the way I see it too

Yanda can also play Tackle if we need him to and when he has to, he can hold his own at Tackle. Yanda is a keeper.

Funny people forget he started at RT his rookie season with Oher at LT.

Speaking of, + for anyone who can name our opening day, starting o line for the 12 season without google...

My man...

I stuttered for a bit on the LG (almost put Reid), but it hit me all of a sudden. What even happened to Harewood?

No idea. He was suppose to have a lot potwntial though. Might have been cut going into the 14 or 13 season. He was the o line version of KLM, injury wise. I thought people would have said Bobbie Williams cause I think Harewood got hurt early or maybe just benched.

Remember him having some surgery or something right? Then never saw him much after

I actually completely forgot about Bobbie Williams. I was thinking it was Harewood it Reid. Was Reid even on the team yet?

Reid was drafted either in 11 or 12. Can't remember the exact year now.

11, same as Torrey and Jimmy Smith.

I would love to keep both but in the end you have to be prepared to replace starting talent. Maybe Oz throws us a curve ball in the 2-3 round and picks up a G or wait later in the draft and pick up a OT we can convert to OG.

great topic - I chucked a similar question amongst some Raven's Faithful and the answer was about 60(yanda)-40(KO)

60 say go with the tried-tested-true, sure ROH choice and have Yanda retire as what he is and always will be - a Raven.  Played some of his best football over the last couple years - will last couple be his best ever?  Hard to make a big commitment to a 30+ player.    Injury concerns with KO are also a factor.

40 say roll with KO - emerging as a true o-line stud.... injury history be damned, he's still young and could possibly offer a high ceiling and longevity.  Knocks - he's going to be expensive and had the injury.

So, tried-tested on the downswing, or young, expensive with upside/longevity but the injury?

I end up in the Yanda camp personally.

I know he started a few games at LG, but I don't know when

According to stats on this site, he has 7 career starts, all at left guard and all in our SB season (2012). Don't think we win it all if O line didn't get reshuffled for the playoffs.

Yeah that was probably one of the biggest reasons we won it

He started until he was injured I think

Definitely don't win if not for the shuffling. The o line was clutch that playoff series.

One of the reasons our line is so good is because of their versatility.  I mean last year the last game of the season and into the playoffs with Yanda playing RT was huge.  Most teams don't have this versatility and the quality of the OL play suffers on those teams when a player goes down with injury.

If it's one or the other the answer is Yanda. He'll be cheaper as KO will likely command top money with his 1st big contract and a young emerging talent.

Yanda you get better or equal play for 2-3 years at less money. Maybe you see some decline but I don't see KO being the better player until at least 2-3 years from now.

Plus Yanda is a leader and makes everyone around him better. He also doesn't have the injury concerns that KO does.

I prefer to keep both if we can sign KO to a decent deal with a pretty large salary but lower guarantee bc of his injury history where he doesn't start making big money until year 3 where I'd expect we see some decline from Yanda.

Extend Yanda where he makes most of his money in the 1st 2-3 years so we only ever have 1 high paid guard against the cap in any given year. Keep grooming Urschel and sign him to a cheap 2nd contract and he takes over for Yanda in 4-5 years.

I also see is drafting a G/T in this draft to add depth and eventually replace current guys. I like the RT from Alabama, can likely get him in the late rounds, has great size and technique, and I think will be a very good pro as a guard with versatility to slide outside if needed.

Ideally keep both. If not we let KO chase the money and get equal or better play for less from Yanda. Urschel is starter quality now and in a year I think will be a standout player capable of replacing KO.

Another thing to think about, idk Monroe's contract well but if he can be cut in a year or 2 and save cap Hurst could replace him and the savings could justify resigning KO. Just a thought.

Evan Mathis might get cut by the eagles. He is a beast. If he's cut this year imagine

Monroe

Osemele

Yanda

Mathis

Wagner

Draft Gurley

who needs a passing game? This is a win now league. This would be the most dominant line the ravens have ever had and this league won't know what hit them

I think with the almost $18 million in dead money coming off the cap next few years we will be able to keep both of them.  Yanda probably about $4 million a year and osemele about $6.6-7 million a year.  At least that's what im hoping.

Ideally, both. But if we had to choose 1, we keep the best G in the league. It's simple like that.

Hes tied with Evan Mathis. Im not bias..

Yanda and Mathis have been by far the best in recent years. Like i said if the eagles cut mathis id take him for a 1 year deal and put Yanda at center. It would make our running game unstoppable

Once again I'm reminded of how glad I am that you don't run the team.

1. Mathis is old and falling off. Why sign an old guard for a one year rental when we don't need him?

2. Yanda hasn't played center since college, and even then I don't think he started there.
