Ravens Pre-Draft Press Conference

With your usual suspects - Ozzie Newsome, John Harbaugh, Eric DeCosta, and Joe Hortiz - scheduled for today (April 8th) at 11:45 AM ET.

 

They'll stream it on the main site and the app, too, which is where I'll be watching from. We're now about 3 weeks from the NFL draft which begins April 30th.

 

Last year, if you'll recall, Harbaugh specifically mentioned MLB as a need even though we had Art Brown in waiting and Joe Hortiz went on to defend Alabama defenders and expound on their toughness and grit. It's worth watching and the site will probably be pumping out articles for weeks after.

 

Edit - Here's the transcript from 2014 if you want to compare what they said to what really happened. DeCosta mentions Taliaferro and Mosley, among others, by name when asked about their position groups.

Hopefully thats not in referance to one of the players that was on the team last year (miles, reid, cason) . All [not good] in my book (miles does provide marginal ST though).

That previous year's transcript was a very interesting read.  No pro bowl players and have you lost faith in Alabama - what does Ozzie go out and do, draft a pro bowl player from Alabama.

Yes, he said they have 65 players presently, then said something like (paraphrasing) hopefully 66 as they are close to a deal to add another player.

If it's one of those guys, I can only think it would be Miles or Gorrer.  I really can't see them re-signing any of the others - Cason, Rackley, Jah, or Ross.

That's my guess but just because that's the only guy in whom we've reportedly had interest doesn't mean, as you know, it's the only one. Maybe it's a surprise, or perhaps it's a cheap one year veteran minimum deal for a guy like Gresham, whose market has cooled. I dunno. Good guess work though! Lol

Ozzie mentioned 2 of our linemen are entering the contract year and he's not ruling OL out of the question. Cann had a visit / private workout with Castillo.

 

Good target to drop back with 1st then move up in 2nd/3rd.

As a fan I would be irate if he was their first pick (regardless of the round). There are tons of better players that fit a need as well.

He can't run routes, doesn't use his height, average hands, and he pushed his girlfriend down a flight of stairs aftee breaking into someone else's home. Why do you want this guy?

I'd rather not use a 1 or 2nd on an O-linemen unless we needed too. Especially considering the great depth and starters we have.

 

I mean even if KO takes money next year we have Urschel.
