That Toronto team is damn good Now. We started 2-1 and end up 3-3 after the weeknd.  Only 6 games in. I hope the O's beat the Yankees.

Yes they are, but this a marathon not a sprint. My first game on T.V.  tonight.  If your volume is too loud, it's just me. In Buck we trust!! Or Ozzie?  Damn it's good to be a Baltimore boy!

Yeah, Toronto is pretty legit. That Tampa Bay game is a stinger in the first 6 games. Could have won that game. Be 4-2. PLENTY of games left.

So, are we still feeling like the Baltimore market isn't ideal for a highly paid reliever?

Late relief is going to be our demise.

Fine. I guess we'd have been better off not renting Miller for a few months and giving up a prospect, since we can't afford to keep who we trade for.

We going to be able to afford Machado? Weiters? Great year last year, but I then get reminded why I lost my desire to bother with MLB. Until they introduce a cap (which of course will NEVER happen), the game will be what it has been for the past several decades.

At this rate, O'Day will hit 100 innings in early Sept and his arm will fall off. But we'll still be losing games along the way watching Hunter get lit up.

Trading for Miller was us going "all in" ... I thought it was widely assumed that we wouldn't be able to retain him when he built his value up during our run. There was doubt when we initially traded for him as well. It proved to be a good move though.

Yeah, Wieters is most likely gone next season and Manny is a huge question mark.... If Manny stays healthy, he's gonna break the bank... It would be wise to lock him up ASAP, IMO. He's under team control for a few more years, but by that time we could be talking "absolute mega-deal, impossible to match, see you in NY/Bos $"

Until the Orioles prove they'll give a player a 100 million dollar contract, I have to assume Manny is on borrowed time and have to enjoy watching him play now.

Jones & Ubaldo have the biggest contracts in O's history.

Coming in at $85 & $50 million, respectively.....We'll see eventually when that time comes.

Unfortunately, Andrew Miller had no problem shutting us down. I hated to lose him but losing him to the Yankees just sucks

It didn't take a clairvoyant to know this was going to happen. I just was hoping we wouldn't see the first instance of it in the very first game we faced the Yankees. This tilt was lost in the set-up phase of the game. I think we're going to see a lot more of that and a number of them will be at the hands of the Yankees.

But I'm being told we cant afford to pay to retain the players we need to remain a contending team, so I guess I just have to get used to it or stop watching MLB like I did for about 15 years or so. I suppose we go back to considering not being an embarrassment is the best we can hope for.

Never be ashamed of loving the Orioles. I still think some days I have to pick the splinters out my narrow butt from 33rd street. Rise up and dump Pete! E.B.W. was the way! We can afford it, if the "owner" does not treat us as a tax write off! Stand up and shout O's fans, I was at game 2 of the 1969 World Series I want this for all of you. Sorry I ain't back home with you but Illinois has never seen nothing like me! Go O's, go Ravens, go Terps, ah you get it!!
