Veteran Combine

He did not, but he's only a season removed from the game -- and relatively young at 28. The guys who participated were solid players, but never Pro Bowl type guys.

Sounds a little cocky....

Maybe he just didn't want too much media exposure.  Probably he'll agree to do private workouts if any teams bite.  Last I heard his market was around North Pole temperatures, anyway - don't know why he'd risk any more vitriol to go out there for a scaled down underwear olympics.  And I honestly don't expect him to get looked at by anyone unless a RB ends up with a season-ender during OTAs or TC.

None of the older vets really stood out in terms of measurables, too. Everyone was bemoaning that but I bet if you look around the league, that's VERY common even with elite players. Think Calvin Johnson is still running a 4.35 40-yard dash? Probably not but it doesn't matter. The combine is track and field, not football.

This was probably the case with Rice, too, who was never a burning speedster to begin with.

Agree.  I think you can get a decent assessment of whether these guys have kept in shape e.g. if Terrance Cody came in looking like he did at the NFL combine, no team's giving him a look, but NFL readiness will be something decided upon in OTAs or TC for these guys.
