Ed Reed in Ring of Honor?

45 posts in this topic

I don't think he's ever going to "retire." I think he's just going to fade into the shadow like TO, Randy Moss, and other greats that had too much pride to say "I'm done." He's just going to disappear for a while, and then maybe we'll hear he's got a a coaching gig under Rex Ryan or maybe a media gig at NFL Network. I'm not sure we're ever going to hear an "official" retirement announcement from him.

Not sure if you've seen Ed on Inside the NFL, but I thought he did a great job last year on that show.

@TwentyER: Just made it official! Thank u guys for all the support! #reeeeedtired

Well guys there it is....part of me wished he would never retire bc to me that would be a very Ed Reed type thing to do...he has always been a different character ... For a lot of people in this town, Ray Lewis is the guy and the legend, but to me, the two of them are a package deal, I don't think about one without the other, the prime example of Batman and Robin.....Ray Lewis showed me and taught to love and have passion for the game....Ed reed showed me what it was to have fun playing the game

He used to be my favorite player then he started whining and moaning...and stopped tackling or showing hustle.

I will try and remember him as the HoF he was, not the guy he became.

I personally don't see Ed Reed fading off into the sunset....  He likes the attention and will want to go into the ring of honor, along with the Hall of Fame.  Just my opinion, but if he's not picked up this year, (which I don't think he will be), he'll make a decision.  I really thought he might go in hand in hand with his counterpart Ray...  but he didn't.

Who was Robin? More like Batman and Superman....

Seriously though. I think they're both the greatest to ever play their positions. I wish he'd finally announce it so the celebrations would start and help move on.... Hopefully get him back as a coach.

Anyone else think he deserves a statue next to Ray? I do, but I don't know if I'm being bias since he's my favorite player ever.

He should have ridden of into the sunset with Ray in 2012. He should have gotten the hint when he spent time with three different teams in '13. I'm not sure, but I think no team asked for his services last year....

I wouldn't be shocked if he kept this up.

Well, he received $5 mil.+ in 2013, so delaying that "ride into the sunset" was quite profitable. Guess he's just keeping his line in the water to see if he can snag a little more. If nothing comes up for him this year he'll probably reel it in and retire a Raven.

The only fool is Reed. Wow, hang up the cleats, man. You are tarnishing your image. Polamalu should follow suit as well.

People fell for that April Fools prank, because it's actually a good idea. The fact, that Ed thinks "Oh, got ya now!", is kinda sad.

Yeah, the "April Fools" was actually reasonable but who ever accused Ed of that?
