Ed Reed in Ring of Honor?

45 posts in this topic

I heard on another message board that the Ravens want Ed Reed in the Ring of Honor this year. He had a great career here, then played for the Jets in 2013 and sat out 2014. The ball is in his court right now. Perhaps he should take a one day retirement contract with the team. This makes too much sense.

This is not even a question. He was the greatest free safety to play football. I think the greatest Middle line backer needs to be in the ring first though

Ray already is in the Ring of Honor...  He was inducted in 2013.  I was there.

Wasn't this the main story of the LFW article today?

And yes I agree Ed should retire and be inducted this year. It's the perfect time, like you see in movies, #20 getting inducted into the ring of honor of the franchise's 20th year.

It's up to him. When he's ready to accept where his career is at this point.

Unfortunately I believe he's training w/ the hope of playing another year ...

Ed Reed was AWESOME in his prime and I cant wait for him to join the ring of honor. I know his best years are definitly behind him and I think he just has to come to terms with that for himself. It's time to hang it up Reed the sooner you do the sooner you get the Gold Blazer from the NFL Hall of Fame..

Time for the stadium to chant Reeeeed one last time, if he doesn't go in, maybe Brian Billick but the problems is he works for NFLN on Sundays, unless they can do the ceremony on a Thursday Night game.

He should have ridden of into the sunset with Ray in 2012. He should have gotten the hint when he spent time with three different teams in '13. I'm not sure, but I think no team asked for his services last year....

I wouldn't be shocked if he kept this up.

Can we get a Ed Reed statue? This guy is my favorite Raven and the 1,2, punch of our perennial defense.

...Raven trademark

Not only that - he clearly was the one responsible for that Doss touchdown.

Waiting for Mod to lock this. Before you ask a question think about it, you might already know the answer.

Ed seriously needs to retire. He's not making a comeback.

I don't think he's ever going to "retire." I think he's just going to fade into the shadow like TO, Randy Moss, and other greats that had too much pride to say "I'm done." He's just going to disappear for a while, and then maybe we'll hear he's got a a coaching gig under Rex Ryan or maybe a media gig at NFL Network. I'm not sure we're ever going to hear an "official" retirement announcement from him.

Whenever he decides to retire or whenever we induct him into our ring of honor. I'll be one of the loudest fans chanting Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed!!!!!!!!!
