Props to Webb. Any word on how much cap space this frees up? Might be time to look into a FA wide out maybe bowe or Greg Jennings.

Lardarius Webb agreed to a restructured deal, making $6M in 2015 rather than previously scheduled $8.5M. True team player. Big for Ravens

2.5 mil freed up according to this

Jason La Canfora is reporting a $2.5M cut from $8.5M to $6.0M in base salary.  I thought his base salary is $8.0 for 2015 (that is what overthecap shows). Not a huge difference but that $500K can matter when it comes to what you're carrying into the season.

Great move on Webb's part.  Hopefully we can extend 2 of Jimmy/KO/Yanda in the next little while.

Lardarius Webb to make $6 million 2015 instead of $8 million in restructured deal, due to make $18 million over next three yrs, per sources

So we save 2M, but I don't like that we'll pay him 6m/year for the next three years.

if he's healthy and plays like webb of 2011 6m a year is nothing. but thats a big if. props to him. wow

Considering he had a based of 8m this year, 8m next year, and 8.5m in 2017 (club option?), 18m for 3 years at 6m/yr is a decent chunk of savings.

I'd expect it... As long as nothing is lingering with his back

I actually edited my post before you quoted it because I thought exactly that. You're absolutely right.

Sometimes its better to take a paycut than be cut. If cut he might not have been able to get 6 mil on the market. Good move.

Wonder what we are freeing money up for. Glad he could help us out.

Not much left on the CB and TE market. WR is a little dry as well but a bit more fruitful. I think they are saving it for draft picks and extending Jimmy/Tucker/Yanda (Yanda and Jimmy's extensions also possibly providing more cap relief!)

He played excellent towards the end of the year and went into the off season healthy.

He could very well have a great year
