How will we address each of our areas of greatest need (DB, WR and TE)?

We don't use a FB like that. We used Juice has an H-back last year, which is a TE/FB hybrid. In fact, Juice played mostly TE at Harvard. We also don't use a FB ever play, so no reason to use Kiero for that. Juice would likely keep his role, but get an expanded pass catching role.

I know it's hard to tell but I wasn't serious. I was expressing that Juice is kind of short and smallish for an NFL TE, in the same way K. Small is as an NFL FB.

If Juice can get the job done then good; see how it pans out.

Juice is 6'1 ,250. For a guy who wont be blocking on the line there is no shame in that.

Yeah, but he wouldn't be a full time tight end. He'd keep his role of H-back but get more passes thrown his way. Juice may be a couple inches too short to be a traditional TE (he is 6'1") but he definitely has the bulk at 250 lbs.

I understand what you are saying but I think the team needs full time TEs.

I think we become a little less TE dependent. I think we draft another in the mid rounds, but if Pitta stays healthy (lol) we would be fine even without taking another TE. I like Gilmore a lot and Juice can handle some work too.

As for Dennis, he needs more time to heal. I think he should miss the entire season and just heal and workout. If the team is less reliant on TEs it will be because they don't have the quality needed more so than a planned/ desired adjustment.

he might as well just retire at that point. He'd 31 with two major hip injuries.

Marcedes Lewis is on the trade block. I would give up a late round pick if we could guarantee an extension to reduce his $6.5M salary or have the Jags pay some of it.

I am not giving up a draft pick for him regardless of the round....only taking him if he is cut....and I think his cap hit is $8 mil

Mercedes Lewis on the trade block? I think that if we miss out on Housler, and decide not to pursue Gresham... Mercedes would be an upgrade over what we have now at the position... I wouldn't mind if Ozzie could maybe get him to sign an extension, and send the Jag's a 4th, or maybe a 5th rounder... We need play makers.

Why wouldn't you give up a draft pick for him? I also addressed the money issue.

We need a TE and Marcedes is a beast who is more valuable than he's given credit for as he's been stuck with poor QBs his entire career. We should most definitely explore a trade for this guy.

A draft pick you have control of for a very cheap price for the next 4-5 years, Mercedes Lewis might help your team for the next 1-2.  No doubt he has had bad Qbs over the years, but what makes you say he is a beast? I think at 6'6" he is a tremendous redzone target but I am not just going to panic and send away a valuable draft pick for the guy.  That is just not the Raven way.

A 4TH OR A 5TH ROUND PICK ARE YOU KIDDING?!??! Guys come on. Do we need a TE, yes, but you guys don't seem to understand the value of a draft pick, or atleast how they are valued in our front offices' minds.  Mercedes Lewis' most productive season came in 2010 where he caught 58 balls for 700 yards on the nose and an outstanding 10 TDs, also played all 16 games. Awesome year no doubt.  The next year in 15 games he only grabbed 39 balls for just 460 and 0 Tds.  Not good.  That was probably Gabbert's rookie year.  YES, Gabbert is bad but you would think he'd be looking for his big TE in the redzone atleast, he was targeted 85 times, only 3 less than the previous year.  2012 was his last semi productive year, catching 58 passes, 540 yards, 4 tds. also the last time he played in all 16 games.  He has played in 19 games combined the past 2 years.  Do you know what this team does with 4th and 5th round picks?....They turn them into guys like Pernell McPhee, Art Jones, Paul Kruger etc you get the point...those pieces are much more valuable to the organization than a rental.  A conditional late round pick maybe, 4th rounder...ha ha

We grab Jennings at a good price and then go for the best available player with our pick in the first couple of rounds.

I think we need to put a little more faith in the front office and our players already on the roster. Pitta is the hold up at this point, our defense should be back healthy and better than last year.

Offense wasn't really the problem last year considering we did not have Pitta. Flacco had career numbers, defense was the issue.

As much as I would like to replace Pitta or have him back it really does not change the fact our issues came on the defensive side of the ball.

I trust Flacco and our CURRENT WR's to get the job done mostly because Flacco seems to turn it on in the playoffs and make everyone look amazing.

If we could give up one pick in the 5th round of Lewis TE of the Jags I think that would be alittle too pricey but if Pitta isn't coming back than sure

If he plays with a weakened hip, he will be done. That's why I would recommend a season off to work on strength and a fuller recovery. One year wouldn't make him too old but could save him from becoming cripple for life. I'm thinking more of the man than the game, but what's best for him is actually best for the game too.

Back to Juice, I don't know what the team plans are in regards to true TEs or morph toward the use of hybrids or a hybrid. Time will tell!

A 4th or 5th round pick is too steep a price. I'd pay no more than a 6th.

When was the last time he had a injury free productive year. Wasn't that 2011? I agree the only pick for a trade would be a 6th and that is only because we have no 7th this year. Better yet, if we can trade next year's 7th it would be great.

Honestly he is 31 yrs old, and I don't know how well he'll hold up for the entire season and more importantly, they would need to renegotiate his contract value so we don't have to pay anything more than 2-2.5M this year for hi. Just so we are clear, I hope you were referring to Mercedes Lewis right?
