Haloti Ngata traded to Lions

Heard more about Ngata trade. Ravens wanted Cap restructure, player wanted extension. Found a suitor, rebuffed by their DT named Suh.

this makes absolutely no sense.

The only way to restructure was to extend, he was on the last year of his contract.

What makes more sense is Haloti didn't want an extension and plans on retiring after this year.

That's the opposite of everything we've heard from everyone else. A restructure would not have helped since he's in his last year. Only an extension would have given us cap relief.

Yeah, it's a weird rumor. Ngata was in the last year of his contract.

I think so, too. It's just a rumor that I'm quoting. It's a dumb one, I guess.

torrey is a speed based wide receiver. He's got 2 more seasons until he becomes pretty useless. (unless he improves other aspects of him game)

The guy i wanted to keep the most in all this was McPhee..he really is a darn good player

McPhee was my choice too, partly because he was the only one on the team who appeared capable of backing up Suggs or Dum if either went down.

He's referring to a pay cut...

After Torrey flew the coop and Ngata got traded, I'm not buying player jerseys unless they're legendary players like Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, etc. Too much money to only get a few years or less out of it.

Flacco will be here for years. Franchise QBs are irreplaceable.

man I really hope so.

if next season he is unwilling to restructure his contract things might get ugly.

TBH I doubt it will ever come that far cause he doesn't seem like that type of guy but you never know what his agent will demand.

Franchise QB contracts are like a dance. The Ravens will try to keep Joe happy and Flacco will make sure we have enough cap space to work with. Restructures and extensions of QB contracts like these happen all the time. Didn't Big Ben restructure his deal three times already?

Having a franchise guy makes it pretty hard for the FO to manage the salary cap, but try to win the SB without one.

Follow simple rules... Don't buy a players jersey on their rookie contract and ngata still works.. He will always be viewed as a raven so no harm no foul there

I can't say much. I haven't got a new jersey in years

Honestly, I'm considering just getting a custom jersey even though it's weird just to avoid having a former player's jersey.

I've considered that but what number? Assuming you don't go with a theme, name: 'Superbowl' number: 35

Ngata didn't want to take pay cut. So he had to go. I don't blame him for not taking cut.

As a Patriot fan, happy to see him go....It's the NFL players leave look at Revis...I'm just glad we don't have to worry about Ngata anymore :229031_cheer:

Ngata was a beast but Sizzle is the real Brady hunter ;)

It's getting better, that's all I care about.

Yeah, things got so much easier for Tom. Jerningan is waiting for his next shot at Brady.

Darn...any other FA DE out there?

I really like Wilfork. He's been on the market for some time and hasn't moved yet. The Lions didn't make a move on him either and traded for Ngata. I think there's a shot we can get him for cheap. He's perfect as far as I'm concerned

Is Vince still available?  I agree, he would be a great addition and fill in the vacant platooning position with Jernigan and Williams. That rotation seemed good for all last year.

Wilfolk would ease some of the performance sting, but he's not near Ngata.

I think the when  it's all said and done this is going to be an amazing move for the Ravens and a good move for the Lions.
