Fullback For Next Year

60 posts in this topic

With Leron McClain being converted to a HB, and doing an excellent job... and Lorenzo the Truck Neal most likely retiring next season, who will be our new FB?

Will we pick up a FB in the draft? In the FA?

Will we move McClain back to the FB position and use Rice/McGahee?

Draft a RB or pick one up in FA?

Just some early thoughts on this...

No reason to not talk about next year. Im pretty interested in Lo Neil's future as well, it seems like he's still playing well so who knows he may have another year left in the tank.

draft senior fullback QUINN JOHNSON from LSU. He is the best pure lead blocker in the entire draft. Not so great with the ball, but we don't need him to be. Watch tape on him, he is the closest thing to Lorenzo Neal

WOW..... I think you're an opposing fan just trying to make raven fans sound stupid. "Ravens 123" think about how cliche and cheap that sounds, it may not be the case but still.

I was going to mention the same thing! Besides, who want to try and tackle that 260 lb beast in the open field?

IDK about that, the coyboys play was an all out blitz so if the rb get by the line of scrimmige he should be gone but i think that since he was all ready past mid feild when the coyboys notice he was there noone felt like running after him cause if they did they would have caught them.

Wow. I know the cowboys are a little easily distracted, but I think they realize when a 260 pounder runs past them and trucks them on the way. Dear god, is there something wrong with you?

So what you are saying is, the Cowboys were saying..."Who has the ball? Uh, I don't know, oh wait the guy is at the 50 yard line now! Nevermind, just let him score with 1minute left in the game, so they can claim victory!"

Yea, your right! The Cowboys never tried to catch him at all <Sarcasm>

McClain on that play broke one tackle behind the line, then went through another past the line of scrimmage, and then planted Ken Hamlin on the ground with a monster stiff arm and managed to rumble 82 yards with no one close behind him and made a DB lose him with a juke behind Clayton. I wonder if you actually watch the games?

Thankyou. Someone who understands.

I just quoted you because you were closest to where I was reading. Thankyou to everyone else who said something similar. I didn't forget about you.

These boards aren't just playoffs, take a look around at the different sections, and threads. There are many things we can discuss outside of the playoffs, there is only so much you can talk about regarding Miami Sunday. There are some real concerns coming up soon such as who we will let go, and sign that will be a free agent. We may lose Rex Ryan, to me that is a concern. Some of us can talk playoffs, and talk about other things outside of that, we are capable of focusing our attention on more than 1 issue.

what about EJ? we don't really use him enough at TE or LB, he plays ST so he must be able to block some, he can catch passes out of the backfield. He could be a really dangerous weapon for us.

I agree, I want to see some more of EJ. I hope we get to see a lot of him next season.

I like 83 but he's not really bulky enough to play FB.

Yeah. I especially like him as like a trick reciever out of the jumbo package because everyone expects the run. He has 5 catches and 2 of them were touchdowns. Good ration.

If Neal retires... which he may not.... then probably go to free agency, I dont see us drafting one unless it is really late in the draft... definitely wont beginning round draft pick
