CBS' Ridiculous Future Power Rankings for the Ravens

He's not completely accurate, but he's not completely off-base. In 2017, we very well could be in a rebuilding mode.

We have several key FAs coming up soon (Jimmy, Yanda, KO, Upshaw, etc), and we can't afford to pay them all. We have a ton of money invested in old players. If Flacco, for whatever reason, craps the bed in the next two years, and if we have a repeat of our 2009 draft class, we won't be looking good.

If thats the case you could say that about almost every team.  But the way OZ does his thing makes it where we dont have that problem, theres a reason why we are normally picking in the mid 20s.  Although i am intrigued on when we address the qb situation.

Right, we could say this about every team. I'm just saying, all it takes is one or two bad drafts, along with some injuries to set the franchise back. Just look at our recent 8-8 season. If we went 8-8 after winning a Super Bowl, we very well could finish 24th in 2017.

I'm not being negative, just realistic. I think we'll be looking good in 2017, but a lot could go wrong between now and then.

It's not just that, look at the teams he puts in the top 10.  Bucs, Jags, Rams, Bills. I mean seriously, these teams aren't a QB away. They have been historically bad for the better part of a decade, and now they are gonna conveniently pass known powerhouses when none of them have a franchise QB?

Bucs, Rams, and Bills are, indeed, a QB (and a few pieces) away if you ask me. Remember, this is 2017 we're talking about..........

Read the Steelers' prognostication if you want a good laugh - Ryan Shazier and Jarvis 'sucks so bad it hurts' Jones are set to be the next Polamalu and James Harrison. You heard it here first! lol

Only team out of those i could see being extremely relevant in the future are the the Rams if they can find a qb.  Maybe the bills depending on what direction ryan has them goin in.

Never mind that he has two LBs stepping up for a LB and a safety.

I actually just remembered where I recognised that guy's name. Nice to see Bleacher Report writers doing well for themselves. :)

This is HOF worthy. Put him in the writers wing.

In a seriousness, (did I even spell that right? and if I didn't I don't care, you can sue me lol)

Ravens are top 10, clearly. Only two teams had a chance to beat the Patriots and we where one of them.

The article really pisses me off for some odd reason, how can anyone be aloud to make such idiotic statements? The bucs? AT 6???? SMH

What if  Brad Gagnon is a resident of Wisconsin, his siblings go to Pitt and he once got  mugged and  parking tickets in Bal.  Sounds like a real Schmo to me.  Nonsense and worthless article in my esteemed opinion..

Not supporting the article at all - but using the fact that we almost beat the Pats in 2014 as the basis for discrediting Power Rankings that are a projection for the 2017 season is as off base as the article itself.

Especially considering the Pats are ranked low too.

I'm pissed at how low they are too lol. The whole list is bogus, I understand the list is based a couple of years into the future. The fact he is saying what Flacco did was a fluke and won't happen again is ridiculous. Flacco has shown that no matter what he is in the regular season in the postseason VERY few have had the success he has had with the weapons he has. That is not even up for debate.

Same goes for Brady, to count him out in 2 years? Really? As long as he has a line and Gronk he will be ok. Dude is going to be here for a long time from now.

I agree the list is bogus. The whole thing clearly shows the writer is not an expert on the NFL.

My only point was that competing with the Patriots in 2014 doesnt mean you'll be among the best teams in 2017 - that's all. But I do agree that putting us that low is a sham. We've been among the most, if not THE most, consistent franchises in the NFL and we havent shown any signs of that changing in the near future.

Just a little insider information Brad Gagon is a Steelers fan, not saying this has any bearing on his rankings, but just letting it be know

also this is a joke:

they haven't truly hit on a first-round pick in about a decade.

Brad, don't give up your full time job working for McDonalds. Rank number 3 for the over the hill gang? The Steelers have more rust than my 1977 Camaro had. And  the hapless Bucs number 6??  Brad you were right on one thing. Your job is on the line.

Don't worry about it, they're never right anyway.

Saints were predicted to go to Super Bowl and the Cowboys were supposed to get 3 wins.

But I gotta say I was a little annoyed when I saw the RAIDERS in front of us.

This article about 2017 power ranking is truly and example of getting paid for useless work. If it gets enough attention it opens up jobs for more useless work.

you know it is possible we might not be that good next year. All teams go through bad years..and with our lack of cap and a tonne of question marks about our secondary and recviening core i think its quite honest

Wow, number 24. Really?

Let's put this article in perspective.

For one it is supposedly the "NFL Power Rankings from Feb. 26, 2017"

6. Buccaneers

7. LA Rams

8. Bills

9. Jaguars

10. Vikings

11. Giants

17. Raiders

18. Patriots

LOL, this article has to be a joke.

I noticed the 2017 also, because when I first began reading it said The Packers reining defending Champs behind Rodgers. So my next thoughts were I would like to see their future 2016 predictions also, since this piggyback's off a previous one.

Reminds of some of the comical things posted on WalterFootball
