Willie Williams

most of you probly dont know who he is but he was the nations number 1 linebacker in 2004 who went from playing at the univerity of miami to ending his college career playing division 2 ball. i hope our team takes a very close look at this guy becuz he could be a steal and i bet some team will take a chance on him. he comes with some off the field issues in his past but i beleive he has turned it around and wont mess up a chance to play in the nfl becuz he has the talent to succeed. maybe we can use a very late pick or try and get him as an undrafted free agent we might be looking at a star outside linebacker.

heres a link with just some background info on him
i guess no one serious reads this
I know where your trying to get at. But i don't believe he'd be worth using a pick with, and I'm sure he'd sign with a team that doesn't have has much lb depth as us.

This guy is a serious talent, but he can't keep in personal life under control long enough to stay with a team. He has gone from a 1st or 2nd round draft pick making millions to a guy teams won't waste a 7th round pick on. I say let him come try out and earn a way onto our team as a free agent. Although, he is not Ozzie or Harbaugh's kinda guy and I see them taking a lesser talent who has a clean record over him. If someone warned Tennessee about Adam Jones, they would have picked up someone else. It's a huge set back to get a high draft pick, put in a lot of time and money into them just to loose a player to league suspensions. Sorry, but if he came to training camp Harbaugh might tell him to go buy a ticket to Dallas or Cinci where they tolerate that kinda stuff.
he just got caught with weed. not a big deal
The NFL has a banned substance clause and even if he gets probation from a judge, that kind of stuff will get you suspended by the league. For example, Derrick Martin was caught in a Cleveland airport with marijuana.

The minor misdemeanor case is the equivalent to a ticket. The maximum penalty is a $150 fine. However, The NFL suspended Martin without pay for the team's season opener and fined him an additional game check for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

I wouldn't mind the Ravens taking a chance on this guy. Honestly if any team has a chance on taking him and helping him change his life around its the Ravens. Ray Lewis will be able to help mold this young man into a superb talent. I think that we should use a 6th or 7th round pick on him because that way we don't risk missing a chance on him in FA. I like taking chances and thats what most teams do with a 6th or 7th round pick. He sounds like an absolute beast on the football field. I will definitely be keeping tabs on what happens to him.

I am pretty sure we do not have a 6th and 7th round pick this year.

I can't find anywhere what picks we had. I know we gave up a low round pick for Douglas when we traded for him, but there is no indication of what round. Do you know what round picks we have? Plus I was figuring that we might get some compensation pick since we will lose someone to FA in my opinion.

from what i understand he already has turned his life around. hes been clean for 2 years. and the whole reason he went to a small school is because he wanted to get away from the distractions and focus on school and football.

Ray would be a positive influence on a lot of guys who haven't been in trouble, too. Aren't we good at this position? We have a handful of developing LBs who are sent in to rush in different spots. Picking up a guy like this doesn't add a lot but it can be a huge MINUS if he gets in trouble again.

the guy is more than likely going to be a day 2 pick.....so if we took him and he doesn't pan out....big deal! day 2 picks are supposed to be developmental players that can at least play special teams. i think he fits the bill. if he gets in trouble, he goes. there are no giant signing bonuses/contracts for day 2 prospects

I totally agree with you. We just can't pass up a linebacker of this caliber this late, which is all I'm basically saying. If he pans out fantastic, but if he doesn't he just becomes a free agent.

this could be our answer if we lose any of our 3 LBs. hes faster then suggs. and who knows maybe he can play inside as well as outside. but the main thing is hes young. we do have 2 30+ linebackers on the team.
