Da Browns

Cleveland is now shopping the 8th pick. They could run away with even more second round picks next year. They're thinking smart?

Found this thread buried a page or two back. So we don't clog up the injury thread discussing the Browns terrible luck, discuss it here.

Have to wonder if the football gods were doing the city of Cleveland a favor when they moved here in 1995. They were trying to save the city and its fans from misery but yet the city demanded the Browns return.

The football gods then said, I tried to save you from misery by moving the team but if you want to suffer, fine here's your Browns but they will be cursed forevermore.

Let's not act like this team was going anywhere before these injuries. Their ineptitude drafting has relegated this team to the bottom of the league for almost 15 years now.

I actually feel pretty bad for their fans.  They're a dedicated and loyal bunch, they deserve better.

I don't. Especially not after that Brown fan pissed on Modell's grave.

So you're gonna define their entire fan base by the actions of ONE idiot Browns fan.

I was just saying the other day that I truly tip my hat to loyal Browns fans. That's a tough team to love when you like winning and consistency.

Remember the effigy of Modell the Browns fans had hanging and they kicked and punched it and eventually burned it. Plus them and their beat writers are making sure Modell doesn't get into the HOF.

This is probably my biggest reason for not giving a damn about CLE or their fans.

I believe Cleveland has karma. Remember after Model took his team to Baltimore and the city of Cleveland threaten the NFL with a lawsuit if they don't get the expansion team within 3 years?  Why didn't Cleveland wait for another team like Baltimore did? City of Baltimore never threaten a lawsuit against the NFL. And nether did city of Los Angeles. Ever head the old saying "good things come for those who wait"?

I don't know what unforgiving hatred they have on us when they still have the retained franchise logos, facilities, and history in Cleveland.  What they don't have is a real owner with hearts.....

On the other hand, city of Baltimore lost everything, the team, logos, and history.......who are we gonna cry to?

I was kinda rooting for the brownies to get it together enough to beat Pitt and Cincy at least once this year.

That with a Ravens sweep of the Browns could decide the conference.

Yep. And throw-in the obvious observation of anyone who visits their forum...they've got be the most visceral fan base on the planet. They hate past, present and future while going at their own fan base like 'wild dogs' (I meant to do that.). No love lost there.

And on top of that, I frequent the Bills forum once in a while (only because I knew a few people on there), talk about a team that is familiar with losing and disappointment. Yet if you ever stop by their boards, you'll quickly see that they're cool, down to earth people. They're not okay with losing obviously, but they generally handle it with dignity and humor. Unless it's to one of their division rivals, especially the Pats, then that all goes out the window...which is the polar opposite of what I have seen from the Stains Browns.

So prior to the Eagles game in week one, reports came out that the Browns fired some scouts before the Draft because.... they liked Wentz? Also on top of it Hue and OC Pep Hamilton preferred Goff who couldn't beat out Case Keenum in LA. Hue also said that they didn't draft Wentz because he wasn't the right fit.

Quote

According to numerous sources with knowledge of the situation, several of the more seasoned scouts and evaluators the Browns parted with prior to the draft -- an unusual time to release such employees -- actually preferred Wentz to quarterback Jared Goff and believed him to be the greater pro prospect.

Seems to me those scouts knew what they were talking about as Wentz has the Eagles at 3-0 and the Browns are still bottom dwellers. Watch the Eagles end up in the playoffs, lose in the wild card and the Browns second first round pick end up being Pick....22.

SMH

He had a year to get himself on straight. What a waste of talent.
