I know,,,But anybody still remembers the Colts here still remembers that jerk Irsay. I remember WBAL TV Chris Thomas used to gripe on Irsay during the newscast. I been to Colts games back in 80s when there was 40,000 at Memorial Stadium almost every sunday and the Colts played awful every year during the 80s except 1983. That was the best i ever saw the Colts play. Then they left.. Irsay put a bunch of cheap no name players on the field. At Least the O's have some real stars under Angelos though.

Take this for what it's worth but it seems Hue Jackson may not last in Cleveland. I know go figure but an article in the ESPN Magazine suggests Hue and the scouts won't get along with the analytics staff.

Quote

That executive also said Jackson’s coaching staff will not be on board with the analytics department’s decision making, and predicted that there will be fireworks in the draft room.

“It’s not just Hue Jackson,” the former executive said. “When data overrides gut, the majority of his coaching staff will all be there screaming, ‘What are these computer guys doing? They don’t understand football, they don’t understand the locker room. They’re killing us.'”[\quote]

Mimics the Moneyball scene. We'll see if it translates and who's ultimately right. That story suggests the Browns are thinking of going somewhere zany at #2

Man that's a shame for a guy like Hue. Cleveland have a great coach and they may set him up to fail.

"Guys, we can't select a punter at 2!"

"But we were told that punters can change the game!"

"I think you mean pitchers!"

Josh Gordon???? SMH!!! Guy just does not want to use his natural talent I guess.

Effort without talent is sad but talent without effort is a crying shame...

Perhaps, but I think it also means something potentially very different. At first glance you'll likely jump to the conclusion that Hue wants a QB but Moneyball wants to go in an opposite direction and take a guy at a higher BPA because it seems like the smart move; however, I caution against eliminating QB from the Browns' formula.

I think a lot of times, not saying you're doing this, we [Ravens' fans] think things just can't go our way and rationalize why it won't. Cleveland could go in another direction, but perhaps it's less innocuous as it initially appears. Maybe Hue and Moneyball disagree not on position but the QB they want? That would certainly make sense compared to everything we've seen since I recall Wentz being the hot name out of Cleveland and recently we hear they're considering Goff. Perhaps Hue's gut is to go with Wentz but Moneyball's analytics say go with Goff?

Certainly changes the perspective quite a bit.

Good points. The buzz out of Cleveland was that they were all blown away with RG3 but that could very well be lip service, we all know they're looking at QBs. If it is a disagreement on the QBs and the 'moneyball analytics' (for lack of a better term) prefer one QB over the other, I wonder what metrics they'd be using? Goff certainly has the more complete and impressive statistics and polished while Wentz is considered the better athlete with more upside.

You could be on to something.

^ That happened a few weeks ago i think, Rosenhaus buried him even deeper than he buried himself.

He's going probably to die in Vegas surrounded by coke and strippers.

If anyone wants a good laugh, go on YouTube and search "Browns fan reaction to Johnny Manziel". It's funny seeing how excited they were for him to be drafted and yet he's been released 2 years later lol. What's funnier is one video I watched, just before Goodell announced the pick, one person says "Don't draft Derek Carr". Then proceeded to be happy they selected Manziel. Oops lol.

The Browns just fleeced Philly. The No.2, No. 77 and No. 100 pick for their 2nd overall pick. Nice trade for the Brownies! Good luck with your lackluster rookie QB Eagles.

TBH though, I'm thrilled that one of these top 2 QB's won't be ruined yet again by the Browns. The Browns got a good haul for that pick, but the big question is what will they do with it? Certainly didn't work out with the Falcons and them getting Julio.

I have to agree with the Browns here, though. I wouldn't have much confidence in those QBs either. I'd actually be concerned, if they manage to land a guy like Connor Cook in the second. I feel like he's being underrated and for once the Browns do have a HC, who can get the most out of a QB. Hue got alot our of Andy Dalton last season. People were considering him a MVP candidate. I repeat: I'M TALKING ABOUT ANDY DALTON HERE!!!

So what are the odds RG-III does not start at QB?   ( assuming he is healthy, which I understand is a longshot )

He has really nice start to the season

at Eagles
Ravens
at Dolphins
at Redskins

He won't survive to see Vontaze.

Yeah Suh will certainly be an interesting one. We could as well depending on how Sizzle is and if we get a pass rusher in the draft. Were the Bengals 5th?

Johnny Manziel stumbles through Coachella

Out-of-control ex-Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel — who, as Page Six reported, recently trashed a rental home in LA, allegedly causing $32,000 worth of damage — was a total party animal at the Bootsy Bellows and Avión pop-up at the Coachella music festival over the weekend.

“He arrived wasted, partied wasted and stayed wasted,” said a source of the NFL player whose career is in peril after his agent Drew Rosenhaus said he will drop Manziel if he doesn’t get help.

“Scott Disick was hanging with Manziel and Kendall and Kylie Jenner. It appeared as if [Manziel] crashed their table. He poured himself drinks from their bottles.” And, “He was stumbling as [singer] Post Malone hit the stage . . . He was dancing and sweaty,” we’re told.

Manziel was also spotted on Friday at a Nylon and Freeform party, and at Neon Carnival, a notorious after-party on an airport tarmac.

“He was mostly sitting in a corner with his friends, chain-smoking,” said a spy.

Another source said he and pals left at 3 a.m. with “five to seven girls.”

Although I think the value they got for the trade is good, I don't know if it was really the smart move, but imo this is whats going on:

- The consensus is that Goff and Wentz are franchise QBs, now they may not be Andrew Luck, but they are franchise QBs, at least that's the consensus around most opinions.  The Browns must not think so.  The same Browns that selected Weeden and Manziel in the first round...who (correct me if im wrong) no one thought they were franchise QBs.

- They must think RG3 can be there future, or just a stop-gap

- They plan on building the team up with talent and selecting a QB next year, bc they will be picking top 5 again.  I don't know who is coming out though so I cant speak on this.

Just hard to get my head around, a team that has struggled to find a franchise guy has one just sitting there and they just say no thanks.  They have had 7 first round picks in 4 years and have basically nothing to show for it.  Now I get that they got a good amount of picks and everything...but how has that worked out for them? how did that work out for the Rams passing on RG3, etc....Without a QB its extremely tough to win, especially in our division.  So while I get why they made the trade (more picks), I still think its a mistake passing on a franchise qb....

The better question is, why does he remain relevant in sports news?

Because people still click on the articles generating ad revenue for the companies that put the articles out. Probably won't last much longer.
