Man I wish I knew some of these guys were available. Biggest regret was not checking on all of them.

Ya. And I wish people would wait longer than an hour or two after they say he's available, to trade him.

Quick tip:

Don't include draft allocation in team savings during trades. It is much easier to just figure out the differences in player values when finding the savings in trades and then since your picks are organized you can very easily see what the draft pick allocation becomes.

Also just in case you are wondering about the rule of 51 and how that effects the moves you make.

Only the top 51 contracts count so if you have over 51 players, you can sign a player for .5 stars and have them not count towards your cap at all.

If you release a guy however and save .5 stars it doesn't make a difference as there would be a guy below the top 51 who would move into the top 51.

When a player making more than a .5 salary is added, you get them at .5 stars off since the lowest salary would not be a part of the top 51 salaries anymore.

When a player making more than a .5 salary is cut, you don't save the final 0.5 stars of savings because there would be another player who would move into the top 51.

Basically every time you sign a guy you get them at .5 stars off and every time you cut a guy you lose out on .5 stars. It can get kinda confusing with all the math so a lot of people get under 51 through this section of the game by cutting camp bodies and such to get under 51 and add those guys back in FFA if they want them back.

Can someone explain to me how exclusive rights free agents work?

If you want the player back you can bid .5 stars on them and they are yours. If you don't want the player, don't bid.

Am I the only one thinking that most of the teams making these trades are almost guaranteed to end up worse than they were before they started?

Was Dareus seriously just flipped for Manny Ramirez...

Now that has to be under veto right? That's ridiculous.

I'm sorry, but you've just traded a young, dominant DT for an average, old center.

I'm not sure that matters... I'm not the commish, so I have no say, but if I were, I'm not giving somebody the benefit of the doubt of a very unrealistic trade based on the fact that you might flip that player later for somebody else.

I would think the commish's would be looking at a trade at the exact face value of it...

Only time a trade would be vetoed is if it was determined that the 2 teams were working together (collusion).

if any gm did that theyd be fired on the spot in real life

That would undoubtedly apply to at least 50% of the trades made (and that's being conservative).

Honestly question whether the league would even allow it

Collusion.

And I pretty much agree with that sentiment, since I think owners should be allowed to manage their teams as they see fit (basically just like fantasy football).

The only long-term problem is that when owners of teams see that trades like that are being made, in my experience, it lowers the overall integrity and "realism" with the league itself, and eventually, it just dies off on its own.
