For this reason, I claim the Pats next year.  No questions at all.  They're mine.  I'll find a way to unintentionally destroy them.

Well I'd like to be the Ravens, but then again so does everyone else.  Besides there's no way I'm the Skins again.  Absolutely no way.

Boy are the 49ers going to be fun next year in this game.

And I'll be at that game.

Aldon Smith shouldn't have been drafted.  He was way too much  of a risk......even in this game.

Starting to look like my pick of Arik Atmstead is a steal in the 2nd round of the forum mock

Need some advice on my homer pick. Like the rest of us, I would really like to figure out who our 2nd leading receiver is going to be. Typically it is pretty straight forward but this year I'm torn. I scooped up BP as a boom or bust, but I am really considering snatching Crockett/Camp off the waivers.

By the way this will be for a WR/TE flex position.

Any thoughts?

Nick Toon is headed to IR, so I'll make another pick.

Good pick up in Grant. He looked good in college and has put together some good tape thus far in the pros.

Thanks.  I thought he looked pretty good against us on Saturday night too.

It'd be nice if my guys would stop getting hurt though, and I'm seeing that you're starting to understand that feeling as well.

That he did. Oh, most certainly. To be honest though, it's not all bad given that those players theoretically remain part of the team in the future, and given that we didn't have full participation in more than half of the drafting, there are still some solid pieces on the board. Then again, that optimism remains so long as the starters aren't injured. I'm knocking on every wooden material in the home at the moment after putting those words on paper.

Made my cuts down to 75, may give slimming down to 53 a go although it is really hard to do, kinda puts you in the shoes of the current gms having to release the players you bring in. At least there aren't too many hard decisions on the Ravens this year given the play of the backups in the pre-season

I had 7 of my 15 original UDFA selections make a roster.

Clayton Geathers (drafted in real life), Tye Smith (drafted in real life), Nick Boyle (drafted in real life), Kendall Lamm, Quinton Spain, Thomas Rawls, and Dean Marlowe

Thanks.  I can honestly say that I wouldn't have expected Tye Smith or Kendall Lamm on rosters in March.  Geathers and Boyle were obvious roster guys to me back then.  Spain, Rawls, and Marlowe were all guys that I liked, but figured they'd be practice squad types.  Happy to see I did pretty well this year.  2 of my UDFAs also ended up on IR with legitimate injuries as well, so who knows what would have happened to them if they were healthy.

To be honest, I'm still surprised that Lamm made it through the final cuts as I figured he'd be stashed on their PS. I caught a a glimpse of him when looking through Mike Purcell's plays against Houston and I remembered that he flashed a solid skill-set at times in college. I thought that he struggled in that particular contest, however. I came across him once more when looking up Ken Bishop in the last preseason game, and the results were unfortunately disappointing. I've taken the liberty of cutting up a few clips (RT #63). There were solid plays sprinkled throughout the game (1, 2). The footwork could've use more polish there but he at least handled himself. That being said, the bad seemingly outweighed the good. He wasn't the most gifted athlete when coming out and I thought it showed up throughout the game (1, 2). More worrisome was the fact that a number of them came on consecutive plays (1, 2) (3, 4). I thought the most deplorable part happened in the first play when Ben Gardner went for the rip while Lamm wasn't close enough to have his hands on him. At this point, I'm not sure that he belongs on an active roster a the moment, which hurts to say since I was considering him myself when we were selecting our UDFAs.

I can't honestly even say that I had been watching him at all this preseason.  I know he started at LT in the 3rd preseason game, but that's pretty much the extent lol.  I just thought I'd check in, not thinking he'd be one to make it, only to see that he did.

I figured as much and I can't at all blame you. I've been keeping close tabs on players I've either drafted, signed or favored. I've went through a lot of preseason tape and figured you'd be interested in a minor breakdown. Congratulations on the players making their respective squads by the way. It's even more impressed that most of them weren't drafted and still made it past the final cuts.

Oh yeah I've kept tabs on the guys I thought would make it, but honestly never thought anything of Lamm.  Doesn't sound like it'll be a long stint on the 53 for him, but I'll take it.  Rawls and Spain were the guys I really hoped would make it.

I haven't seen much of Spain but I'm not at all surprised about Rawls. He's been talked up by the Seahawks for a while now.

Wow even with the season starting, this thread is still alive lol. Yes it is going to sound crazy but I'm already thinking about next year's game, already looking to see who I want for next year. Translation: What stupid decisions will I make in next year's game  :D

I'll tell you what.. my trades and free agency overall was pretty bad. I had a few solid additions but overall, whew.

Trades:

Montee Ball RB - Garbage

Da'Rick Rogers WR - Garbage

Peter Konz C - Garbage

Cyrus Kouandjio OT - Garbage

Ron Powell LB - Garbage

Matt Elam - Garbage  :(

Matt Kalil OT - Decent

Julius Peppers DE - Decent

Morris Claiborne CB - Decent

Preston Brown LB - Good

Vontaze Burfict LB - Good

Free Agency:

Jake Locker QB - Garbage

Terrelle Pryor QB - Switched to WR, remains to be seen but since I signed him as a QB - Garbage

Hakeem Nicks WR - Garbage

LaMarr Woodley DE - Garbage

James Carpenter OG - Decent

B.J. Raji NT - Decent

The only decent thing I did was the draft..

Draft:

Kevin Johnson CB - Stud

Jake Fisher OT - Solid

Mario Edwards Jr. DE - Stud

Tyler Locket WR - Stud

Cody Prewitt SS - Garbage

Personal Grades for Each Position for My Team:

QB: A- (only because of Cam, group as a whole is bad)

RB: B- (Stewart saves this group)

WR: B (Nicks is a decent WR3 but not very good. Benjamin/Lockett combination is solid)

TE: B+ (Olsen saved this group)

OL: A- (Solid pieces across the board. Kalil, Norwell, Kalil, Turner, Fisher with Carpenter and Kouandjio isn't terrible)

DL: B (Short and Lotulelei help save this group but the addition of Peppers and development of Ealy isn't all that bad)

LB: A+ (Kuechly, Burfict, and Preston Brown as starters with Maualuga and Klein as depth is really good)

CB: A (Norman is becoming elite, Johnson will be really good, Benwikere is solid as well - Claiborne as depth)

S: D (What in the heck was I thinking)

I'm lucky my team already had a lot of pieces.

Its funny, I was looking at some of my old forum mock stuff the other day and I got Norman in the FFA 2 years ago for a rule of 51 contract.

I had researched some teams, but the way the rest of the season played out kinda messed with things. Some of the teams dropped in the draft in which I was planning on them picking higher, but I still should be good to go with who I want this year. Guessing it will still be the random number order based on when we signed up is how we pick teams again?
