The Broncos are shopping around Julius Peppers, Cortez Allen, Derek Wolfe, Troy Polamalu, Danny Trevathan, David Bruton, Lamin Barrow, Zac Dysert, Brock Osweiler, Ronnie Hillman and Quanterus Smith. Looking for either picks or players in return and am flexible in that sense. PM me if interested.

I now own 3 4th round picks in this year's draft. If anyone else is willing to give me their 4th round pick, feel free lol.Ā

Arnie's tagging of Suh is invalid. His case was specifically mentioned in the rules and the actual tag number for him is 27 stars.

I forget the player, but we followed the same rules that the nfl does least year. Someone's tag was higher than normal.

I think it would've been Byrd, right?Ā

Can anyone tell me my cap hit if I chose to tag Hardy for a 2nd year in a row? Just curious if it works out the same way. Don't think I have the cap but just curious.

Ā

I think it would be 11.5+20%=13.8.

Ā

14 stars.

I'm not sure about this, but I think it would actually be higher as Hardy's 2014 cap hit was 13,116,000... In my understanding, that would then lead to a cap hit of 15,739,200 = 15,5 stars, or am I missing something?

I didn't know one could even get tagged 2 years in a row. Didn't the collective bargaining agree thingy do away with that?

Actually becomes rather interesting as the franchise tag values we use are quite a bit lower then the projected values as found here for example: http://nfltraderumors.co/projected-2015-franchise-tag-figures/

If we go by the standard rule that the franchise tag value is the higher of the Leagues standard value, or 120 % of the players cost the year prior, there are quite a few players that have higher tag values to take into account. This rule would be what applies in the Suh, case for instance. Based on a quick search through the 2015 Free agents and their 2014 cap hits on Spotrac I found at least 7 players that would have a higher then the franchise tag value under the 120 % rule...

In other Words, this should probably be cleared up by the CoCo.

From the rules thread:

Ā

* Players Franchised for the 2nd straight year cost 120% of the normal rate

Ā

I believe we take the tag rate into account, not his previous cap hit. This is the first time I'm doing the Forum Mock though, I might be wrong.

Yes, but by this rule, Suh should only cost 9 stars (the tag-value for DT's). If we are infording Suh's increased tag-value, which is base on an increase on his 2014 cap hit, we have to do it for any other players in the same situation, no?

In his case it's by cap hit because the cap hit was higher than the tag value is. It's the way the league does it and it's the way we've done it for at least a year now.

I agree, and in that case this rule affects Hardy too. By my calculations there are 7 UFA's that is affected by this, and Thus have higher tag-vales than the standard. Of the 7, only Suh has been tagged t this point... I'll post the list of players with increased franchise tag value here, if the CoCo agrees, but would like to hear from them first.

We are aware of the rule and will handle the situation should it arise.
