I wouldn't have done a boot, actually. Patriots had a stacked box and Russell may have been sacked. Pats had relative success against their boots, too, if I remember right. I don't disagree with the slant call. Just think it was bad route and a bad throw. Honestly, if Russell waits one more second for the receiver to actually get up to speed, the slant might have been there. If you watch the play again, the receiver had barely finished his break when the ball was out. It just wasn't there. Slants tend to be fairly effective against goal line formations.

 

Regardless, they still should've ran it.

 

 

Given they had only one TO and three plays to get it in, a play action roll out would have allowed Wilson time to throw it away to stop the clock if the play wasn't there. There probably wouldn't have been enough clock to run it three times.

I think OP is maybe thinking of the pass OD dropped? That play should have been a run imo.

Hypocrite? Hell no. They had Beastmode at their disposal. That changes everything. Seahawks should have run it. Harbs is right.

Seahawks needed a big, fluky pass to get to the goal-line in the first place. Not hypocritical, not the same scenario. And we WOULD have run it 3 times, probably - we did last season even when our OL and running game was historically terrible.

 

 

Original poster conveniently over-looked this point.  It was essentially the same attempt at scoring a TD.  The only difference is Flacco got picked and Wilson's pass was completed by a crazy catch.

Usually when we go for it on 4th and inches, John runs it. Thats the only thing that compares with the Seahawks.

Just think if we had beastmode when Cam was here, we'd never get to run, run, pass for 20, 3 and outs in a row, its just be run the whole way
