Falcons under investigation for fake crowd noise

15 posts in this topic

Just an attempt to distract us from the Cheatriots so the NFL can look the other way.

Apparently they consider it pretty serious though - since they claim the penalty would be a fine and a loss of a draft pick.

Thats because of spygate.  When you get caught cheating for something big, you get a magnifying glass for everything else.

Arthur Blank pretty much conceided that the investigation is cominmg to an end and the Falcons are guilty

"It's not really a fine line," Blank told The Associated Press. "I think what we've done in 2013 and 2014 was wrong. Anything that affects the competitive balance and fairness on the field, we're opposed to, as a league, as a club and as an owner. It's obviously embarrassing but beyond embarrassing it doesn't represent our culture and what we're about."

"We were advised by the league probably in November or so," Blank said of the investigation. "We fully cooperated with their investigation. They haven't published it yet.

"Based on the information that we had, we dealt with it internally; we'd rather keep it private until the investigation is public and we have access to the full report. We have some information now, but not the complete report."

Probably has a big connection to fans not going because of higher ticket prices, crappy team play, the new stadium land-grab issues, etc. Someone got some 'splainin' to do!

No one is losing their minds because the cheating by the Falcons is being dealt with by the league while the cheating (and bending and ignoring stated intent of the rules) by the Patriots is ignored by the league.

Vast difference.

The Browns are also facing punishment for their texting deal. I'm still waiting for the Patriots turn.

No one's losing their minds because the Falcons are irrelevant. That's just the truth.  If this were the Steelers or Dallas, this news would be headlined.

Now your piping in noise into this conversation.

Judging from Arthur Blank's choice of words, it can be a given that he and Goodell aren't very close like Kraft is.

Piping in the noise and still not winning or breaking the decibel record. smh

Just like the first comment on the ESPN Article says, they were just trying to make him feel at home pumping in all those noise.

It is being reported the Falcons expect to learn their fate as it retains to "NoiseGate". This is going to be very interesting to see how severe the penalty is for this.
