The Browns -- Josh Gordon.

13 posts in this topic

So today, Josh Gordon released a statement, an "open letter". It is in response to the criticism following yet another suspension, now for the entire 2015 NFL season. The article can be found here "https://medium.com/the-cauldron/an-open-letter-to-charles-barkley-co-cb5c4e64cf3"; I find this to be incredibly candid, interesting and worth the read.

Any thoughts concerning his future with the Browns or even the NFL in general?

Write up by his agent,  this paragraph got me:

In connection with the DWI case, the league — in consideration of the fact that my blood-alcohol level was just .01 over the legal limit — agreed to shorten my punishment from four games lost to two. These games were tacked on to my eight-game suspension that had been levied on account of my inadvertently inhaling second-hand marijuana smoke last offseason.

What? Really?? "Just"? Seems like he missed the point of being punished for DWI. Hope that's a 'half-truth' and not really NFL policy to reduce DUI suspensions over "just" being over the legal limit.

I guess the point of the story is that he had it rough growing up and made/makes a lot of mistakes but for the TV talking heads not to judge him. That's what they do, Josh, that's all they do. Don't give them a reason to talk about you negatively would be my advice - if you care what they have to say.

Agreed, he needs to stop giving people a reason to judge him. When you've failed like your 9th drug test, I kind of lose sympathy about how the talking heads judge you.

We may not "know" him, but we do know that he keeps making foolish decisions that make it hard to trust anything that he says.  I don't care about his upbringing or anything like that.  When you have the chance of a lifetime to play in the NFL and set yourself up financially for life, and you throw it all away, it's hard to trust a guy like that.  How many times can he make the same mistake over and over again before he learns?

Do you know the best way to never get a DWI ?
Never drink and drive.

Do you know the best way to never have marijuana show up in your pee test?
Never be around marijuana.

Its not rocket surgery.

And it truly is just that simple. Don't. Do. It.

LOL. I've heard of rocket science and brain surgery. Never ever "rocket surgery". Must be the birth of a new high tech field. Thanks for making me laugh man.

It's a "famous" line, like "was it over when the German bombed Pearl Harbor?". All these years and some people still don't get that one.

Cept I am not sure where Rocket Surgery is from.

I stand corrected. Had to look it up. Damn, I must be getting old. And Bluto was wise beyond his years.

Josh Gordon is going to scare a lot of teams away by the way he is reacting to certain things. Take for example, as an excuse for being late he is saying the Browns never told him he was tardy or had any "tardiness problems". What is this High School? He wants to be told he is late? If Manziel had a night of partying and showed up on time before Gordon to any of the meetings, then Gordon has some serious issues.

Next.... he has filed a grievance in regards to his Week 17 suspension.
