Most people will say that corner and wide receiver are the team's two biggest needs. Which position do you guys think the team should go after with their first pick?

Personally, I think they should go with a wide receiver in the first round even though cornerback is such a big need. The corner class is loaded with depth and I think the team could get a quality guy in the second or even third round.

I said cornerback bcuz that's our biggest need. But, like you said, there is a lot of depth at CB this year.
(2nd RD Dominque Johnson :D )

My heart says WR but my mind keeps telling me CB. Personally, I would like to see a big time WR simply bcuz we haven't had one since...uh, that one dude, no, wait, um, uh...yeah, you get the idea, BUT!! our 2ndary needs some MAJOR upgrading in the off season. Depends who we pursue in FA (wr or cb) but as of now I say trade picks with Jags and select Malcolm Jenkins.

thats what i want, if we give them our 1st, 3rd and Chris McAlister or something we should jump up and grab jenkins

if not i want us to trade down as the calss is so deep and we could use some depth in key areas

Well, lets see. Either you can get a CB who might possibly turn out to be Duane Starks or Chris McAlister or you can draft a WR who might be like Mark Clayton. WRs usually take longer to develop in the NFL. Unless there is a definate Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, or Andre Johnson, I say we wait. Steve Smith (3rd), Brandon Marshall (4th), Marques Colston (7th), were all taken in the later rounds.

I think our CB spot is the liability of our defense (and our pass-rush-less dline)

You are so right. I would go for a CB too.

Miles Austin is also an interesting young prospect. He didn't get much playing time but had a day with over 100 yards as well as 3 consecutive games played with a TD. I also think Antonio Bryant is a great deep threat and a playmaker. I just don't know if Harbaugh will think he is their kind of guy. He's had a troubled past with suspentions and failed drug tests, but that was over a year ago. Now he was dubbed with having the catch of the year. If it's all behind him, I think he could have a great carreer here.

I think it depends on whether the coaching staff believes C- mac can play at a high level next year and avoid injuries. If they think he can, then I think we should trade our number one for a truck load of second day picks, seeing as we have no real needs if C-mac can play at a high level opposite Fabian Washington and then Samari as the nickle back, that's a pretty good setup at corner.

We have our #1 and #2 wideouts in D mase and Clayton. We can either pick up a tough, Wes Welkerish slot reciever in the mid rounds (probably 2nd), or go for a deep threat. I would vote for the former, seeing as we'll have D-will back next year and he can provide a deap threat.

Then with our newly acquired second day picks we can pick up a couple of stud pass rushers, another corner for insurance, and FB for McClain to run behind if Lo hangs them up. You can get talented fullbacks really late in the draft (like we did with Le'ron). And definitely some depth to back up the front 3. We know that Ozzie can work wonders with late picks.

The annoying thing is, there are so many talented receivers in college but many of them are juniors or underclassmen. I have a feeling the team will get a WR in the draft but I don't know if there is a franchise in this year's draft other than Crabtree.

I don't want the team to go with the FA route because that would mean paying a guy a ton of money.

If they do decide to go with a corner, Alphonso Smith, Victor "Macho" Harris, Darius Butler and DeAngelo Smith are good candidates.

Harbaugh seems to be gearing the team towards being more balanced and less D heavy. Last year we took QB in the 1st, HB in the 2nd and OT in the 3rd, and with our limited pass game the new drafting pattern seems to be pointing towards WR.

I see it going like this...

Darrius Howard Bey, if hes gone (which he could be with a good combine) THEN Jeremy Maclin. If both are gone there are no WRs worth a pick at that point the focus will turn to CB and Vontae Davis, who could be a risky pick.

DHB in Round 1 and Trevard Lindley in Round 2 and I will already consider this draft a huge success.\

After that, names like Greg Middleton, Andrew Quarless, Ramses Barden, and Pat White come to mind

So, I may sound a bit stupid, but Im still a new Ravens fan, so Im still kinda learning. If we were to get a WR OR a CB, who would we replace? If we got a WR, would it be Mason or Clayton? or if we got a CB, would we replace Ivy, Walker or McAllister? and if we DONT get a CB, who would McAllister replace when he comes in? Walker? or just leave McAllister out?

EDIT: and how many people are on a bench in an NFL game? how many WR's can we have on the bench?

We'll there's a 53 man roster, so obviously the 42 guys not in the game are on the bench. if we get a WR he doesn't have to replace either, he can just be our 3rd wide reciever. Some formations allow for 3, 4 or 5 recievers to be in the game on one play, so neither of them have to be replaced. Same thing with Cornerback.
