2015 NFL Off Season & Free Agency (Other Teams)

Just saw this on Schefter's FB:

Josh McCown deal with Browns:

3 years/$14M with upsides to $20M. $6.25M is Fully Guaranteed. Year 1 is $5.25M Fully Guaranteed.

Now we're talking desperation by the Browns.

It seriously makes me wonder what kind of bidding war they was in with the Bills.

The Raiders have parted ways with DE Lamarr Woodley who was entering the final year of a 2 year deal he signed last March.

I suspect he may end up back in Pittsburgh with Worilds being a FA or he follows Lebeau to Tennessee.

Wasn't sure where to put this but since this deals with FA, I'll put it here for discussion to kill time over the next 9 days.

The league is looking into moving the key June 1st deadline up a month to May 1st. The goal is to give players who wouldn't be employed until then a chance to participate in offseason practices that they normally wouldn't have.

Good info. It's only fair to both the team and the player. I really like the idea about eliminating the Thurs inactives.

It does not surprise me at all that the Browns signed Josh McCown, but I personally don't think he is much of an upgrade over Hoyer.

Well the only two headlines for tomorrow's Franchise Tag should be Bryant and Thomas getting the Franchise Tag. I would be shocked if somehow the Lions tagged Suh or worked out an extension with him.

Woodley is old, slow, and done at the ripe old age of 30 lol. His decline actually began around 27-28. Pretty funny because that's when a lot of players are in their prime.

To me, it looks like he just didn't want to work hard. His teammates said he was fat and he was/is.

Justin Houston KC. Tagged. I also wouldn't be surprized if a kicker or two gets the tag.

This makes a lot of sense so it'll probably never happen lol

The Dolphins have cut veteran CB Cortland Finnegan.

The Bucs are trying to trade LT Anthony Collins after signing him to a 5-year $30M deal last March.

Kendall Langford is visiting the Lions.

Jacoby Jones has visits lined up with the Bengals and Titans.

Still waiting on official word from Denver/Dallas about the Tag status of Bryant and Thomas.

nfl.com has them both tagged.

Also, Giants have tagged JPP.

Here's the kicker with Thomas. Dez Bryant got the regular franchise tag but the Broncos placed the non-exclusive Franchise Tag on Thomas. Meaning any team can make a run at him but would have to give Denver two first round picks.

The Patriots are using the Tag on Kicker Stephen Gostkowski over Devin McCourty who will now be heading into the open market.

Oh man, damn you Miami. I was hoping Charles Clay would have been a good option for us at TE next week. The Dolphins are using the transition tag on TE Charles Clay. If he signs it, he would stay in Miami for $7M this season.

Pretty much the only thing the Dolphins have done this offseason that I haven't done in that forum game is cut Hartline. Dunno how that makes me feel.

If a team that usually drafts late like the Bengals want him it'd be worth it.

Another team can sign him and not have to give up a penny in compensation. This only gives the Dolphins the right to match. Call it the Alex Mack effect. I really don't understand why teams don't use this tag more.

There isn't a WR in the world worth 2 first round picks plus gazillion of dollars.

Maybe, but just imagine AJ Green and Demariyus Thomas on the same team.

And how much funnier it would make Dalton's chokes.

I don't want to imagine that on the AFC North team.

That would be gold but I bet he would get another chance after the first one and done with those two. Blaming it on chemistry obviously.

Good ol Dan Snyder, always thinking of winning the Super Bowl in March. The Redskins are supposivley interested in Lions DT Ndamukong Suh. The Skins have $25M in cap space but this would severely limit new GM Scot McCloughan in how he wants to build the team in his first year.

Something tells me regardless of where Suh signs, it's Haynesworth all over again.

The Bengals got the money to spend and those draft picks would still be unproven. Could whiff. You know what you're getting with Thomas.

Every single one except for the one time the Eagles beat them for it when they went on a free agent spending spree.

This is going to make those clamoring for a receiver in the first not happy. If the Texans do not find a trade partner for Andre Johnson, he will be released. Meaning the Texans will be another team with a receiver need in the first.

He has already posted his goodbye message on instagram.

Also, the NFL article says if he is released, he will likely demand a deal worth that of what Steve Smith received last year.

Ahh yes, the "Dream Team."

Andre Johnson expected to get cut. Too much to have 2 old vets w/ sss&ajohnz?

Or something to consider if johnson is willing to take sss money as article implies(going to pot. SB contender)

What do ya'll think?

I think the Texans should be ashamed of themselves for not getting him a solid QB.

Oh you mean what do I think about getting him? No thanks. Young stud please.
