2015 NFL Off Season & Free Agency (Other Teams)

1,453 posts in this topic

From 49ers GM:

@MaioccoCSN: GM Trent Baalke strongly denies the 49ers are shopping Colin Kaepernick.

Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora

Reached out to several QB-needy teams. Have yet to hear from one who has had talks with 49ers about Kaepernick for those asking

So this means they are shopping him lol. Every time they deny, it means the opposite lol. Plus La Canfora is full of it lol.

La Canfora is the Mike Carey of NFL Reporters. Whatever he says, you can be sure the opposite is true.

And Trent "Jim Harbaugh is our coach" Baalke denying it...yep, Kaep is definitely on the block.

The #Bills and Jerry Hughes have agreed to terms on a 5 -year contract, according to an NFL source.

#Bills and Jerry Hughes have a 5-year deal worth at least $45M with $20M guaranteed to keep him in Buffalo.

Free-agent guard Orlando Franklin has told people he will leave the Broncos and sign a five-year deal with the Chargers, per sources.

When it gets done, Orlando Franklin's 5-year deal with Chargers expected to come in close to $36.5 million with $20M guaranteed, per sources

Some early morning deals taking place

And people were saying Flacco was overpaid???  GEEZ...  Suh in Miami...  Yes, the Phins do it again...  Severely overpay to get a player...  Ridiculous.

I'm having a hard time thinking of successful free agent signings when a team "broke the bank" on 1 player; can anyone think of one?

I mean, 6-years for $114 million? Geez, Miami...

Ndamukong Suh is not worth that much! Not to mention, this is the same franchise (albeit under a different GM) that overpaid for the likes of Mike Wallace, Brian Hartline and Darnell Ellerbe. Yeah; how did that turnout?

Teams are built through the draft! How some teams still try to build through free agency amazes me...

yup...THAT  ----^

Bears signed McPhee

40 mil with 16 guaranteed. Good signing for Chicago and they didn't break the bank

Unlike Miami...  Seriously though....  I still cannot believe that they gave Suh $114M

Poor Torrey Smith (not financially though), leaving a solid organization like Baltimore with a top notch qb for a dysfunctional place like SF where he might or might not be catching baseball throws from Kapernik.

Is Willis retiring because of his injuries, contract disputes, or the weirdness surrounding the 49ers organization?

Hey but atleast he'll be making bank though, cause that's all that matters right? The money? Not playing for a stable team that can be contenders for many more years?

I understand it's a buisness, but you mean to tell me players would rather go to unstable or crappy teams just to make more money, instead of playing for a contender that has a shot at the SB almost every season? Makes me wonder how many of these players are really that smart...

Boy... that escalated, quickly. I mean, the 49ers really got out of hand, fast...

In other news, Brian Hoyer will join Ryan Fitzpatrick (who's returning) and Ryan Mallett in Houston, as all 3 will compete for the starting Texans QB job.

O'Brien is waiting for Hackenberg in next years draft.

The League is beginning investigations into any violations regarding the reported agreements made with players. Remember, this was a NEGOTIATING period only. Teams have took it upon themselves to agree with deals with players when they aren't supposed to.

Per Schefter.

The nfl wanted this when they set up this 3 day window for "legal tampering" , i think its exciting.

Jaguars sign DT Jared Odrick to a deal worth $27M. The Jaguars have already signed Julius Thomas and RT Jeremy Parnell.

All the desperate teams are throwing the "Big Bucks" around and it's not even Tuesday yet. The Dolphins do this every year and they've won what? Stupid teams spend stupid money and run up the price for the rest of the league. Then again I root for a team that just get's it done, and yeah, it hurts some time, until the playoffs come! There ain't no "I" in team but there is a "ME"! Just sayin'!

He's won a chip and his name is l ready in the Ravens records books for his shirt career here. Time for him to secure his financial future. Can't be mad at him.

Securing his financial future? Really? The guy will be making millions, and baring some freak horrible injury, that's MORE than enough to secure his financial future. Most people in this world would be just fine getting by with a million or two let alone a couple million. I'm not mad at him, I just find in ridiculous how players feel they need all this money and would rather choose that sometimes over winning. Heck if I played in the league winning would be more important than my paycheck, cause at the end of the day, wins speak more than how much money you make. I could make hundreds of millions to play on a team but if keep losing and not getting anywhere I would be ticked off and could care less that I'm making 100 million dollars. Don't players play to get to the Super Bowl anymore, or is a SB win second to money now? I know he has already won a ring, but how about pushing for more rings?
