Matt Ryan and Pro Bowl

He's on a team built around him... and it sucks

Worst defense in the league in yards allowed and 27th in points allowed. Consider that they had no O-line and no real rushing threat and you could do a lot worse than 6-10. That team needs some serious help, especially in the trenches granted I doubt that happens with Dimitroff.

No question the GM is to blame, the Julio Jones trade was ridiculous, but they definitely put the team all on the QB and he couldn't do it. Not many/any can.

Yeah maybe Manning in his prime and Rodgers and that is about it for the past few years. It just isn't the way to build a football team. Thank goodness Ozzie isn't that stupid lol

Can someone out there explain to me how Matt Ryan goes to the Pro Bowl after falling miserably short - again - and getting blown out in a must-win to get into postseason final game?

http://www.atlantafalcons.com/news/article-1/QB-Ryan-Replaces-Pats-Brady-at-Pro-Bowl/1c050683-619d-401b-beeb-e3ebba19e2dc

And I think I'm gonna need you to talk slow and draw me pictures so I understand it.

The Pro Bowl is first and foremost a popularity contest, like any other all-star contest

And Ryan is a name that fans recognize from both fantasy football and the coverage he gets from outlets like ESPN. So, with enough attention he has enough popularity to get enough votes.

I can't even hate on the NFL Pro Bowl game after the NBA All Star voting was crapped on by Justin Bieber and his followers in order to get Kyle Lowry into All Star game. And if he hadn't of been an idiot, it wouldn't even have been close. What Bieber was able to do should make all sports change All Star/Pro Bowl/etc game selection processes.

Since there really isn't anything on the line here, both Dalton and Ryan will probably be fine. It's only when "clutch" is required that they fail.

Great post! You hit the nail on the head there.

Just kill this game! Ryan is a hack! Joe did more with less than he ever will! I'd watch the game but I got a hang nail so gonna have to sit it out. Wow, Andy Dalton?? Really?

Not only fans vote but players and coaches have input.  Its the pro bowl and certainly not worth a rise in blood pressure
