Imagine if Brady was a helper here. All we'd get would be "Study the rule book and figure it out..."

Such a deflating answer too.

The fact that I am so far down makes me so nervous. Got to go with my least favorite 5 teams and just know I get to at least pick the best of those 5 which is worst case scenario. Positive thinking.. positive thinking.

Quick question(s) before we begin:

1.) We're counting all players, yes? As in, we don't account for the top 51 contracts? I ask because I think we did the top 51 one year and I wasn't here in full last year so I'm a little fuzzy. I'd like to know because that'll help me determine if I keep some of the practice team guys my team signed at the end of the year. And are we limited at all on a maximum roster, such as only 90 players or whatever?

2.) I may have missed it, so sorry if I'm asking a redundant question, but here's an example/question all in one:

If I signed Hughes in free agency, but then decide to trade him, will I be able to trade him or does the same clause addressing cuts also apply to trades? I don't recall seeing that.

3.) If I tender (franchise or restricted) a player, is that tender guaranteed or can I remove the tender at any point? I ask because tenders (franchise or restricted) aren't fully guaranteed until the league year begins, which succeeds the entire game.

If I have anymore questions, I'll ask. Those stick out right now.

1. Operating under the rule of 51. If recommend cutting all the camp bodies, and if you want them back, pick them up during our last FA period where they don't cost.

2. Correct. Traded FAs operate under the same principal.

3. If you release a guy on a tender, you get the full amount back since as you said, nothing in those contracts are guaranteed.

Thanks. That's what I thought, but I didn't want to presume and I don't recall (probably didn't read well enough, who knows) seeing those specifics in the rules so I figured I'd ask. I appreciate the clarity.

Is it only me, or are there just 15 teams regarding the 2015 salary cap on spotrac?

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cap/2015/

Yeah that table is a bit off as for starters they are using a 138.6 cap limit as opposed to the 143 star limit we are using(you're welcome) and they don't take rollover into account. The 2014 version of the table is what we will be using for rollover to avoid any confusion(Carolina and Minnesota have odd values for their current cap under their cap table). If you want a more accurate look at the current cap for teams, the 2015 cap table is the values that we will be using to calculate the starting cap for all the teams.

Oh and for clarification on Minnesota and Carolina, the difference is Adrian Peterson and Greg Hardy, just figured that one out.

To make it easier we could use overthecap.com/salary-cap-space/ . It has carry over included just add 3.0 stars as they are projecting 140 as cap

It was discussed, but we have already decided on Spotrac because we're familiar with it and the layout is user friendly.

As I said I'll be leaving work at 7 but give it 15 minutes and I'll be home to make my team pick.

I'm going out this evening, so won't be able to make it, but If someone is willing, I'll send you my list of teams, so they can make the pick for me.

It's pretty sad that an in-forum game is more in-depth with building a team than ANY madden games franchise mode.

They might do a better job simulating free agency, but the scouting system is complete garbage.
