I can't believe we're already discussing trades.

If anyone is interested in Antonio Gates, Chad Rinehart, or former Raven Jarret Johnson, let me know.

So, just so I understand this correctly.. The one special cut/trade. Are you saying that I could cut Charles Johnson and instead of it saving me $6 million ($20 million base, $14 million guaranteed) that it would save me the $20 million?

I'm not 100% sure here, as I'm in no way in any special authority in this game, but here's my interpretation:

Charles Johnson has a cap hit of 10 Stars; however, he has 14 Stars in dead money. If you cut him per this rule, you could save the 10 Stars and ignore the dead money in this one instance. That's how I read it, anyway.

I see what you are saying. I get it. So, if I cut him the "regular way", it would be the cap hit - dead money so I would save $6 million in that instance. Correct?

From what I understand, if you cut him with that dead money and his base salary, you would actually owe 4 Stars. That's my understanding, which could be wrong.

If you cut him the normal way, it's Cap Hit ($20 million) - Dead Money ($14 million) which would save $6 million I believe. Let me go back and double check.

Cap Saved = Cap Hit - Dead Money

When you cut the player you Cap Saved = Cap Hit - Dead Money, your team incurs all signing and/or other bonuses as dead money to your cap if there is any.

Ex. Cutting Haloti Ngata would mean you would save 8.5 stars

(16 cap hit - 7.5 dead money = 8.5 cap saved)

That's where I got that from at least. I could be doing something wrong. I'm confused. Lol. Sorry guys! I'm struggling.

I think this is correct. If you "special" cut him, you would save his base salary.

Pretty much every player is available for the Raiders other than Carr and Mack. If you're looking to unload big contracts hit me up cuz I have a bunch of cap.

I can't decide if I want to keep it as realistic as possible or just have fun with it and do something crazy like randomly switching the Panthers to a 3-4. Lol. Would make the game more fun if I was trying to change the personnel. Dang.. decisions decisions.

Since everyone else is doing it...

OLB Ahmad Brooks (6 stars)

WR Stevie Johnson (6 stars)

DE Justin Smith (4.5 stars)

And maybe for the right price...

ILB Patrick Willis (7 stars)

OLB Aldon Smith (10 stars)

TE Vernon Davis (4.5 stars)

Still willing to listen on almost anyone but I've made it known which guys not on this list would require high returns.

Looking for CB, WR, DL, and draft picks.
