"DeflateGate" Update: Suspension Upheld! Brady Accepts 4 Game Ban.

After the press conferences, my hatred for Belicheat went up, and yet I also gained some respect for Brady, much as I loathe him.

I believe Brady is innocent of wrong doing, but I'm beyond convinced Evil Bill was in on it.

You are wrong. He said if they deflated them fine...but they always didn't. Looks like the same for the Patriots just the other way around. It looking more and more like refs were pretty lax with this around the league. I believe the witch hunt is over. The Patriots may even get an apology from the NFL.

Hahahaha ... yea, you're a troll. I'm going away now. Apology ... hahahaha.

My only hope right now is that other organizations (particularly youth organizations) don't take the Patriots approach to the game. I can only imagine what kind of game that future would hold. Football would probably go the way that boxing and baseball went. They were both 'America's Game' in the past like football has been in recent years.

They lost their fan interest when they couldn't be trusted and revelvant anymore. They loss their way.

I hope that never happens to the game I love.

It makes me so angry that as of right now it looks like Belicheck and Brady are going to get away with this. The NFL hasn't even talked to Brady yet? What are they waiting for? Or are we buying that 11 of the 12 balls ONLY THE PATRIOTS USED magically deflated after inspection?

The real truth is Belichick and Brady are the big moneymakers for the NFL. No way they do anything to jeopardize them playing next week in the Super Bowl.

One of the things I heard on a Sports Radio show out here was from a guy who use to be in the NFL and he said that in these investigations, it's usually the tactic of the NFL reps to talk to the lowest people involved and work their way up. In this case, ball attendants and others who were around the balls. They aren't use to talking to people and they want to get to them before anyone has a real chance to "coach them up" so to speak; if someone was going to do that. So guys like Belichick and Brady would actually be one of the last group they'd talk to.

lol

The only one who benefits from the deflation is Brady and every former QB has said he's full of it. They know exactly how the football feels.

Do I remember when the ratings-hungry media created a buzzword for the masses to start mindlessly parroting?

I do.

Do you remember when two time Superbowl champion, Jimmy Johnson, admitted he did the same thing during his Cowboy runs, which he said he picked up from every other NFL team he worked for?

I do too.

Do you remember when all the geniuses who call the Patriots "cheaters" also put an asterisks next to Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irving?

Me neither.

Tell us when the Patriots last won a championship since Spygate?

I'm waiting

I believe the opposite...Brady is lying so badly  .

Just hold the Patriots accountable and penalize them. Sick of hearing ESPN explain why it's no big deal (mostly). If I were to get caught cheating to any degree on a test, I would risk getting my degree at my school. Knowing that is all I need to stay away from it. Let all teams in the league know how it goes when cheating happens. Just like their previous offense. It's impossible to catch all acts like this so that's why you punish the ones who get caught significantly as a deterrent.

Belichick and Brady were both covering up. Belichick sounded like he was reading a script. Brady looked uncomfortable and obviously backed down from his orignial 'ridiculous' comment.

You know its bad when there is a whole thread in the Steeler Fever Forums apologizing to Ravens fans for rooting for the Cheatriots in the Divisional Round. LOL. Mutual hate of the Taperiots-Deflatriots is making the brothers in the AFCN so mad that we're actually momentarily getting along. ROFLOL!

These quotes by Brady are dripping with dishonesty:

Q: You said you didn't want the balls to be touched after you approved them. You didn't notice that 15 percent of the air was out of the ball when you started using it? It didn't strike you during the first half?

TB: I didn't feel any different. I would just assume that it was the same thing. Like I said, once I get the ball, I'm dropping back and reading the coverage and throwing the ball. I'm not –

Q: Basketball players would know if the ball was off after taking two shots. Baseball players could pick up a bat and know if it was less than ounce different. You're asking us to believe that you couldn't tell 15 percent of the football was deflated and you didn't notice?

TB: I wouldn't know on a particular play. It was a very wet, cold, windy night. Like I said –

Q: But [Colts linebacker] D'Qwell Jackson noticed.

TB: I don't know. I don't do that. I get the snap, I drop back, I throw the ball. I grip it and I try to throw the ball. That the extent of me touching the football. I don't sit there and try to squeeze it and determine that. if that's what the Colts wanted to do, then that's what they wanted to do. That's what their decision was. But I certainly didn't. No, I did not recognize that. I did not feel a difference between the first half and the second half when supposedly they were inflated to the original or even more inflated. I didn't notice any difference. I didn't obviously think there was anything different between halves.

The bolded part makes it seem like he's passing blame. 'If they wanted to discover our illegal equipment, that's on them' LOL ok, Tom.

At least with the Steelers is a dislike out of respect.....With the Pats it is down right hatred.

And Brady just made it to the news (Bild is the biggest Yellowpress) in Germany because of his ISIS comparison. Well they talked about the scandal earlier because of the Pats German player Sebastian Vollmer … but not in the top news!

I'm just curious. have either Brady or Belicheck been given a lie detector test as part of this independent investigation?

I might be German (so not an expert in US laws) but I think if they don`t agree – and I expect they won`t - you have no chance for that! If you want that you must take it to a regular court!

Calling them right now!

Ok, I'm kidding. Of course they wouldn't agree with. This is just gonna drag on until the Super Bowl is over.

If they did that the whole season and no one noticed ... how useless are the officials?

Maybe the officials never gauged the balls to begin with?

My recommendation for punishing both Brady and Belichick is death by firing squad.  Perhaps as the halftime show.  What say you?

Under blown has become overblown.

Now there's something I wasn't expecting you to say. Get it on tape next time.

Sorry but nobody here believes in the innocence of the Pats…

Interesting take on it by Pereira:

Another interesting point of view from Jay Glazer referencing the opinions of the other Owners, GM's, Coaches regarding the punishment of the league towards the Patriots.

Plus from what Glazer says it was planned to check the balls at the half of the Colts-Patriots games due to the fact that the league had been put on notice (which I have read from other sources as well)...so maybe the Patriots didn't know the balls would be checked at the half!

I also read from another source that it was confidentially planned to check those balls at the half and again at the end of the game.  Perhaps Belicheck was correct when he said he didn't know this until Monday.

That would imply that the League had been tipped off and said nothing to see if they could catch the Patriots, and they did!  If true, I have to say that I love it! lol   If that is true, it is ironic the statements that Brady and Belicheck made today, both claiming that they knew nothing...what else could they say at this point? Deny, deny, deny, because they obviously didn't know the league was on to them, and they were caught with their pants down!  Ya gotta love it when a plan comes together don't ya?

Interesting viewpoint by Aikman:

An interesting look at the Patriots fumble rates over the last few years (Hint: they have the highest––by far––of outdoors teams):

http://www.advancedfootballanalytics.com/index.php/home/research/general/224-the-patriots-have-great-ball-security?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

I read that two nights ago Crush, it was really interesting as the data, all though not completely conclusive, does seem to point to a direct correlation to their fumble rate with possible cheating as it relates to underinflated football usage.  The percentages were staggering.
