The fans on the Patriots forum still seem to think that science is on their side...I'm not particularly sure who they had run the tests, perhaps Sarah Palin?

Science guys!.. from bawwwllllston!

No where in my post did i say they've never done it before.

You don't have to explicitly state that they haven't done it before, that's not what ravensdfan is getting at.  He's saying that you're discounting the fact that its likely they've done this against many opponents in the past.  Whether or not it affected the results of our game or the Colts game is irrelevant.  It very well could have affected the results of any single game that they played in the past where their balls were illegally under inflated.

Then you can't say that this cheating did not have any bearing on them being in the SB because you have no idea how many games, nor which games they used this illegal tactic in and how it affected those outcomes.

FTFY. ;)

And add that it's more the point of an organisation with a reputation for cheating being caught cheating in the biggest game of the season to date. The Colts score is irrelevant imo.

Too bad I don't consider Glazer reliable. He's the same idiot that started the "Ravens ratted out the Pats" rumor.

Same. Let's see where this storyline goes.

When Edelman fumbled the ball and 4 Ravens were surrounding him, I shook my head and said "Of course the one Patriot would recover it". Now I know why the ball didn't bounce too far.

Another interesting point. Obviously you can't say much about what would have happened as it's all speculation, but it's the kind of thing that could change a game.

I trust you've seen those fumble stats for the entire league since 2007? There are some more interesting ones for individual players when playing for other teams, then signing with NE.

I don't agree with this.

How many fumbles never happened because they had a better grip on the ball? Perhaps one in that 2011 title game that might have made all the difference?

Score in the game vs Colts cannot abolish them from plain cheating. You MUST play by the rules.

Did they have an advantage with better grip on the ball? Yes they did, as 11 of the 12 balls were under-inflated. Did that factor determine the game? No it didn't, imo. just like it wouldn't have during our game. Also, the intent to knowingly cheat has not been proven yet and I will wait till that determination has been proven.

Now your saying perhaps in that 2011 title game that they could of done the same, which is a fair question. But now we are accusing the Officials of the NFL of not diligently doing their job pre-game (which is fair), but also needs to be proven; As now we would be accusing them over a larger time span than just a single game.

In my previous comment I did state that an under-inflated ball is an advantage in cold weather, this is true. I still don't believe it is advantage enough to determine the outcome of a game. It is cheating, and it does deserve punishment.

This is the crux of why I'm so interested in this issue.

Warning, everything I say below is theoretical and not meant to be taken as fact.  I do not necessarily believe that it is true.  Pats fans, don't blow a gasket.

If you are to believe that the Patriots have done this in the past, how many situations were there that literally if a Patriots player was holding a regularly inflated ball they would have fumbled, but rather they did not fumble because the ball was not properly inflated.  In those situations where the player would have fumbled, how many times would the Patriots have lost a game that they actually went on to win.

Have any of these games occurred during the playoffs?

Naturally there is no way to prove any of this, and thats why its all theoretical...but this is exactly why it annoys me when people say that this isn't a big issue.  It is a big issue.  This is regardless of whether or not its just the Patriots as well.  If the NFL is going to have the rule in place, then people need to follow the rules because otherwise you are possibly changing the outcome of the entire NFL season.

what's to say they didn't.

Peter king amongst others are reporting that the nfl effectively set up a sting operation to catch them.

if the Colts tipped them off in week 11, the sting would have been set up before.

it makes sense it was us because then the next week they get caught.

I'd very well believe we tipped the nfl off.

But if we tipped them off, we would have had to thought that the balls were under inflated in our game as well.  If this were true, I have to believe that Harbaugh would have come out and said that they thought that, no?

That'd make him look like a sore loser, especially if it came to nothing (and our new Patriots trolls fans were right). Deflated balls or no (I can't be the only one who gets a stupid giggle when I type that), we still had the chance to win that game so I can see why he'd have kept quiet on it.

Fox Sports Jay Glaser reports video shows Patriots locker room attendant taking balls from refs room to another room for several minutes before reappearing to take balls to field. Who here believes that he acted independently? Am I the only one who thinks the NFL needs to slam on the brakes with this super bowl until we find the truth as having a known cheater win the super bowl will be a disaster for the NFL. In addition, they need to review the same camera footage from the Ravens game to see if Tom Brady's paid crony did the same before that game, affecting the outcome Clearly at this point. The NFL needs to have the colts and Ravens play to see who faces the Seahawks in the real super bowl. In any case, if this is true, absolutely, Bellicheat and Brady need to sit for a year. It is amazing with the info they have already they aren't punishing the Patriots by suspending Brady and Bellicheat before the game.

yeah, no that ain't happening.  But you can bet they cheated against the Ravens. Explain away that 4 points patsies.

New Rule.....

The league will control 12  balls per game, to be used by both teams.  6 in the first half and 6 in the second half.  Teams will not have discretion over the balls used.  Balls will not be attended to by any player.

With the 4 point differential against the Ravens, if they did the same, your daggone right it could have been enough to determine the outcome.

Agreed Tank, I couldn't believe in the light of all that has happened this nut actually said that in a taped interview...not the sharpest knife in the kitchen drawer, obviously!   I thought the same thing he looked and sounded like he meant that!

My only question is who the hell handles their PR???  There is a tree stump in a swamp somewhere with a higher I.Q.!!!

Who would have thought that SNL would have gotten it right with Dougie Spoons? Man, I thought Belichick was more creative than that.

Haven't you said repeatedly that you're "done" with us? Why are you still trolling? You are not going to convince anyone here so you might as well move on to trolling the Seahawks.

Yeah, I was done, but things come up. I didn't think I'm "trolling." If you think I'm a troll, your definition of a troll must be pretty low. I'm actually posting in the Seahawks forum, just as I've done for every Pats playoff competitor. I don't get you guys. Even the Colts forum gave Patriots fans some love. You guys are a whole other story. But I'm no troll.
