Richard Sherman laid down he gauntlet. Said the Pats won't be punished as long Kraft and Goodell are "taking pictures in each other's respective homes. Talk about a conflict of interest."

I love this guy. LOL.

Pats give ball of artificially high (due to heat, not extra air pumped in) 13.5 PSI. Refs remove 1 PSI, actual PSI now 12.5 PSI, the way the patriots "like them." Temperature of air inside ball now comes down to room temperature, actual PSI is now 11.5 PSI. Ball is outside and wet for an hour, PSI is now lower than 11.5. That's what Patriots say, and until the NFL says something different, and can prove something different, NO tampering is needed based on the Patriots explanation. The NFL will have time to refute that.

sorry, total bs. Just a concocted fairy tale to try to squirm out of getting caught at ONE of their cheats.

Look, it was obvious they both lied at their first conferences. You just need to resign yourself to the fact that you root for a team that cheats, and always has cheated.

You somehow act like this is any better than deflating the balls after getting them past the refs inspection.  In my view, this is exactly the same as tampering with the balls after inspection.  It is cheating, and your team has once again made a decision that is going to haunt them for years.

Must be so deflating cheering for such a dirty team. It'd really take the air out of their Lombardi if they win.

I gotta agree. Different way to get to the same result. Only in that case, it presents possibility that they deceived the gage. And that they know exactly how to do it at will (I'm sure it was only this one game though).

I'm curious as to where their fumble rates will trend now.

I really don't want to hear all about the Seattle "repeat" and how they're now a dynasty because they've been relevant for two years but.....NE needs to lose and lose badly.

It seems to me that Ravens fans would appreciate what the Seahawks are doing. Playing football the old-fashioned way…winning with hard-nosed defense. Would you rather see Cowboys vs. Patriots in a 48-37 game? I don't get the Hawks Hate. They are a really fun team to watch and any team with defensive swag is helping save the NFL in my book. Go Hawks!

That's where we disagree. I don't equate providing high/low/hot/cold balls to the ref with tampering of footballs and deflating air *after* the ref has inspected them.

Stevan Ridley must not have been using the doctored balls, because he was benched for fumbling. And they recover a good percent of their fumbles, and they have some good backs which don't put the ball on the ground a lot. So this is another one of those cool stats, but nothing here to see for me at the moment.

Pic I took at Ravens game before my iPhone battery died. Need new battery bad. South endzone. Saw 3 pats TDs including final play at goaline. Very cold.

The analysis there is what I was referring to.

If they processed the ball as you said, isn't it possible this wasn't the first time? Could be a gamely routine for all we know.

Weird start to my Monday when I have to agree with a Steelers fan.

Haven't you said repeatedly that you're "done" with us? Why are you still trolling? You are not going to convince anyone here so you might as well move on to trolling the Seahawks.

It is now looking like the Patriots will face no punishment. There will be new procedures implemented on how the game balls are prepared and handled. No more squeeze from the refs and it feel Ok lets play that has been going on for decades. It's really amazing to find out how many coaches had no idea about what went on with the game balls. The real danger to the integrity of the NFL comes from John Harbaugh and Chuck Pagano for conspiring  to make a fellow coach and team look bad. It just shows you how far people will go to try and paint the Patriots in bad light. The funnest part is that in the end the Patriots are the victim.

You admit that a rule will be changed because of this. Doesn't that in it's self mean Harbaugh and Pagano were right to bring attention to this?

That's a good point and I would have to agree to an extent. There was another and proper way to do it though. I think Harbaugh was pissed about losing and didn't take kindly to Brady's comment which was dumb on Brady's part but wasn't done with malice. I don't think Harbough or Pagano thought it would blowup like this. They've both back pedaled. Now that fans, coaches, refs, players and the league has been educated on the issue the Patriots come out looking good because they did nothing wrong and were attached relentlessly by the press and fans.

Chris Mortenson was on ESPN radio Saturday morning and stated (repeatedly) that the Ravens had nothing to do with this...that's all made up. He said that the Colts noticed it in their November game and pre-arranged for the officials to check the balls at half-time. CM has darn good sources so I think you need to believe him. It's time for the Ravens-hate over this to die.

It's also time for the Patriots fans to move along somewhere else.

Still relevant seven and a half years later,

Just replace 'video tape' with 'deflation'. Wow, so relevant, still hilarious.

I can no longer take this thread seriously now that a rational adult has said "the patriots are the victims "

and it was not followed by a smiley face or a LOL.

We're not going to know until March when the NFL investigation concludes and they disappoint fans everywhere except New England. I think Harbaugh may have got caught up in this unnecessarily just like the Patriots. The whole thing is a ridicules circus at this point. This is the world we live in.

Lol looks like we have another delusional Patriots troll who thinks that Harbaugh cares enough to start a conspiracy against his team rather than trying to fill out his decimated coaching staff.

The obsession with the Ravens from the clam suckers up North continues continues.

Richard Sherman called the situation exactly as it is.

Why Pats fans coming here trolling and looking for our support?

Didn't they should know by now or long time ago that we don't like them at all? Especially those from Boston...

You are taking an opinion piece from a New England newspaper that decided WITH NO FACTUAL BASIS that John Harbaugh somehow did something in order to get the Patriots in trouble.  That entire article was complete bullcrap and has been refuted numerous times by people with far more knowledge of the situation than us.  You are simply trying to find someone to blame other than your cheating team because you cannot reconcile in your head how dirty your team plays in order to eek out wins.

The Patriots are a disgusting, petty, cheating football team.  They proved this in the past, they have proved it again this year.  The fact that you continue to blindly support a team that continuously bends the rules in order to try and crawl back into the Super Bowl is disheartening and kind of sad.  I feel bad for you guys, because if the Ravens were in this same situation I would be an emotional wreck.  But alas, the Ravens are a team that follow the rulebook to the letter and do not attempt to find ways to subvert rules simply because "it doesn't say we can't do it, so lets do it."

To call your team the victims in this situation demonstrates exactly how delusional you are.  Go ahead, try to blame this on us.  Go ahead, try to say that you doctored the balls beforehand, because that somehow in your limited view makes it appear that you didn't break the rules.

In the end of the day there is one team to blame for this situation: the New England Patriots.  When you play with fire, chances are you're going to get burned.  Your team got burned during SpyGate for refusing to comply with a memo sent out to the league, and your getting burned now because your team did something to make the PSI of the footballs lower than it should have been during game time.

Even if this were the case, what exactly is the proper way? Failing to bring it up during the act (mid game) would have risked losing evidence against the claim.

You know, if it weren't for Sherman last year running his mouth, I wouldve enjoyed the Seahawks. This year he's calmed down a bit and that comment on Goodell is golden. The only problem I have now is their fans and Lynch grabbing his junk and being a jerk to the media. However, I do love how their defense plays, it brings me back to the old days of the Ravens and wishing that we could get to that level again. Russell Wilson is a class act too.

That's where we disagree. I don't equate providing high/low/hot/cold balls to the ref with tampering of footballs and deflating air *after* the ref has inspected them.

Lol dude, what they did is the definition of manipulation. Maybe we should give more credit to "Bill Belichick the Science Guy" for finding a scientific way to manipulate the ball to pass inspection and then deflate to Tom's real preference of 10.5 psi. Either way you look at it, it lacks integrity for the game and the Patriots should be charged with deceiving NFL officials if this comes to fruition.

Im actually flattered that the Patriots fear us this much to try and come up with these theories.
