bye bye kubiak - the new OC thread

87 posts in this topic

Not only does Kubiak go back on his word at the last minute, now Shanahan & Trestman are taken. Plus Kubiak is taking Dennison and Parani with him. Awesome guy right?

Hoping Denver goes 0-16.

I'm disappointed about losing on Shanahan, but Oakland can have Trestman. I actually kinda hope it works out too - be nice to see a new side being relevant.

he lied to an entire fanbase, straight up lied.

he never said "the way it looks now, i may be staying, because i currently havent been offered any good jobs"

You let me know of one coach that would say that

Brian Pariani, unless he desperately wants to be a perennial TE coach.

Give him an opportunity to prove himself and, more importantly, keep that WCO kind of system going.

Sounds like he's off to Denver too, which is disappointing but not the end of the world. I'm on the Hammock bandwagon for now, unless we think we can get Shanahan Sr on a longer-term arrangement.

What bothers me most is that we lost the QB and TE coach. If we lose more, I'll be even more upset. But regardless, now we have a ton of holes on our coaching staff. It's really a problem.

well if he would have gave an open ended answer, or hell, said nothing at all, just turn down those 3 jobs and do your thing, instead he sent a well thought out message to the fanbase that left us with no reason to think he wouldnt be our OC in 2015, and in a matter of 72 hours, hes gone.

Yes because he waited until the last minute and the decent alternatives are all taken. Then he poaches our coaches as well.

Great stand-up guy that Kubiak.

he said he IS staying and we are "building something great"

he flat out went back on his word and did a major disservice to a fanbase that embraced him greatly, and cleaned out the offensive staff on his way out.

you can argue why he left all you want, you cannot argue that he didnt tell a boldfaced lie to a franchise and a fanbase and then to make it even more of a low blow, took the hopeful replacement with him.

come in for a year, build a resume, then force us to scrap the whole project and start from square 1. it was low.

He has the right to change his mind. When he said all that stuff Denver head coach position was not open  at the time and when it did well he changed his mind.

He BETTER not take Monachino with him. I swear

The only guy that want's to take him is Teryl Austin, and fortunately, it looks like he won't be getting any HC jobs this season

he did it at the last minute and waited until all the half decent OC's were claimed, and then on top of all that, he cleaned out the remaining offensive staff, leaving us to search through a scrap heap.

the remaining selection of OC's is an absolute joke, the worst i have ever seen in an offseason. we almost have no choice but to try to lure a college coach, the options are incredibly slim.

I assume Owen Daniels and forsett follow him as well

Based off that blog post Forsett written a couple of days ago, I see him wanting to stay with the Ravens.  Besides.  the RB competition is something fierce in Denver with Anderson, Hillman, and Ball

I understand that he did what he felt was best for himself. He can't be faulted for that. But in hindsight, he lied to us, and we have a right to be mad.
