bye bye kubiak - the new OC thread

Since Kyle is gone, let's look at the pro-style offenses in the college ranks. Maybe someone from Pitt, Iowa, Wisconsin, or Stanford. Hell, it'd be great to get a USC playcaller. Everything they do is built around the west coast style of offense.

Kyle Shanahan's not gone, he's still on the market...

May as well see if Peyton will take an OC job if we go down that route. :P

If he does retire it may be worth a shot at this point lol

Him and the Falcons have come to terms. He's going to be their next OC.

I'm not sure who we bring in. Lane Kiffen?

HELL NO!

He's one of the few coaches I really don't like. I wouldn't want anything to do with that scumbag.

Wouldn't mind a college coach but don't see us going that route. This should be interesting.

Let's call up Billick...

Urban Meyer.

And we trade Joe to Cleveland for three firsts and Josh Gordon, and bring Tim Tebow out of retirement to unite him with his old coach.

Or, in a major coup, they hire back Cam... Yeah, yeah?

All respect for Kubiak gone; it's one thing to have left with the expectation of it, but another to lie about staying. I just hope we can find a good replacement.

I said let's get Cam back. Would be funny

A little off topic. I would hope Cam and John are still frienda. Why don't we draft any LSU players? I'd assume though we use him for scouting info. Same for his brother now that he's back in the college ranks.

Dude he played for Denver and under Elway, you can't fault him for wanting to go back there and lead them to a title

I don't fault him for wanting to go back; I just fault him for going back on his word. Yes I realize I may just be bitter about it, but still.

Lol yeah right

It's the only options available if The Ravens want to continue to run the same offensive system.

I know we are usually a really good team and all, BUT WHY DO OUR COORDINATORS ALWAYS LEAVE. Can we please find someone who enjoys being here for longer than a year or two? Or at least doesn't take our best staff members when they leave???

idk I just wanna keep Justin forsett, and the play action

It wouldn't shock me to see him go to Denver as well with Kubiak.

Thomas Hammock was someone I said could be the new OC last year

In seriousness, this is probably the best name out of the candidates out there. He's had a year to learn off Kubiak and form his own ideas, we can expect a strong running game (Melvin Gordon could be a fun prospect too) and he's young enough to have a lot to prove and some fresh ideas.

Otherwise, I'd probably be looking at Mike Shanahan if we can take him Norv Turner style, or Adam Gase if we're really confident about switching to the EP and making that work (I'm incredibly dubious about taking him, but if he's the best there is...).

There's your answer right there.

Not only does Kubiak go back on his word at the last minute, now Shanahan & Trestman are taken. Plus Kubiak is taking Dennison and Parani with him. Awesome guy right?

Hoping Denver goes 0-16.

he lied to an entire fanbase, straight up lied.

he never said "the way it looks now, i may be staying, because i currently havent been offered any good jobs"

he said he IS staying and we are "building something great"

he flat out went back on his word and did a major disservice to a fanbase that embraced him greatly, and cleaned out the offensive staff on his way out.

you can argue why he left all you want, you cannot argue that he didnt tell a boldfaced lie to a franchise and a fanbase and then to make it even more of a low blow, took the hopeful replacement with him.

come in for a year, build a resume, then force us to scrap the whole project and start from square 1. it was low.
