What are the best Concerts you have ever experienced?

Yes, we all have someone to be jealous of when it comes to concert going. I'm the youngest of 4 and my older brothers saw some monumental shows and I've always been jealous of them. Late 60s/Early 70s acts ... A good example - Allman Bros at Painters Mill in 1971, which turns out was Duane Allman's last concert before he died.

Still, awesome that you got a VIP view of U2. The band at their height was as good as it gets. They've been downgraded over time, mainly because people eventually grew weary of Bono's act. Still, I consider them in the upper-echelon of all-time.

Allman Bros; That fillmore album is a treasure.  Saw them in a five band concert called Blues Bag One in Philly.  It was the first big show for Bonnie Raitt

Tommy Castro Band:  The band every blues fan should listen to. The tempo of his songs are lively, coupled with a voice that is

rhythm and blues perfection. Once you hear his voice you know its' him. His tone is warm and his lyrics reflect what is going on today.  Go to utube and listen to Trimmin Fat .  Thats' a song that says it like it is.  Some of his best live work is featured on an album called "at the fillmore.     The feature song is Nasty Habits  I never met anyone who heard it and disliked it.    My other favorites are Make it back to Memphis, the classic Bob Dylan song Serve Somebody and Chairman of the board.  Explore and enjoy.

IMO the best live recording in history. Overall, I would consider it a top 10 album of all time.

The show my brother saw at Painter's Mill was during the same tour as Filmore and he said they basically did the album (and more, as he said they played on for hours). I never did see them.

My old bud saw them at the Fillmore in NY and he said they played until sunrise.  I don't know about that  Fred never really kept his brain functioning after sunrise.   You want a bluesman to listen to.....  Check out my Tommy Castro post

The Clash on their first U.S. tour at the old Ontario Theater in Adams Morgan, DC. Had the DCeats and the Legendary Bo Diddly open up. Great show from a band that had the biggest selling import album of all time, the Clash. I'm getting so old, I saw this bands videos and recordings used for a Saturday night Public TV beg a thon.

If anyone likes tasty Acoustic Guitar jazz look up Acoustic Alchemy.  When they play live you would swear the take is a perfect studio cut.  A well balanced band they work effortlessly and are musicians with perfect timing. Great to listen to when you cook or drive a luxury sedan on a coastal highway. Start you jounney with the first album Red dust and Spanish lace.  Their live album in London is stellar and the intimate relation with the audience can be appreciated with their St Lucia concert.

Thanks for the tip.

That sounds up my alley.

Aerosmith is the best live show.

I actually saw them in Wrightstown NJ, a small greasy spoon in the shadow of McQuire AFB back in the 70's.  At that point they fell on hard times. Your band is playing to a circuit not mentioned among musicians.  They were good.   Even Tyler looked somewhat normal.

I guarantee success.  Tell me your reaction  Bet you couldn't listen to just one.  I found at least 15 solid top shelf songs out of my favorite 36

The only concerts I recall were the ones I performed in back in the late seventies to 1980 - as a high school student in Clinton, Tennessee.

Specifically, the annual "Fall Festival of Favorites" as put on by the Clinton Senior High School Choir in association with the Clinton Community Chorus.  When I performed "Blue Suede Shoes", I brought the house down.

Ah, the music was fun, and I hope the people enjoyed it.

1976, Terre Haute Indiana. Rush opened for Kiss on "The Alive" tour. I know a lot of you were not even born then but it was a different world then. It was all about the party and wish you were there. A lot less hate going on!  :oldwiseman:   :disco:
