I'm not even gonna comment on that ridiculous indy writer accusing us of deflating balls. This is just getting sad now and they are really reaching. I could pull up all the reasons why this is bunk and how unreliable the guy is and the fact that the refs are in control of all the balls among another litany of questions but it's not worth the time.

Bruh, I'm going to be honest right now (and I'm probably gonna leave this post on Pats Fans too).  All this deflating the ball news?  Enough man.  The Pats don't deserve this... I mean, yeah they deserve to have a sketchy reputation, but guys let's be honest.  Bellicheck and Brady are going down in history as one of the all time greatest duos in sports.  They are a good team man.  They just are.  As a Pats hater (and I mean true, utter, Maleficent hate), I'm tired of hearing that the Pats are just cheaters.  They're one of the GOAT, and they deserve that accolade.

I'll gladly give Patriots heat for cheating if they did it. Evil Little Bill and Tom CryBrady will go down in history as the best QB/Coach combo that marred their legacies by constantly resorting to trickery, cheating, and skirting the rules to win.

Which is a shame. They can win just fine without playing dirty. But play dirty they do. And I don't mean rough dirty. I don't mean Steelers and Ravens taking cheap shots. I mean clearly trying to find advantages that if caught will cost them dearly.

Now, if this is BS, shame on that reporter. But if it's true? NAIL THEM TO THE WALL. I hate cheaters.

LOL I read this off Pats Forum.  It's pretty funny actually:

5 years from now, Ray Lewis would say :" If it wasn't for the deflated footballs in the AFC championship against the Colts, Brady wouldn't have won 2 more Super Bowls."

Maybe they do Alaska...  but this stuff is ridiculous....  Spygate, Tuck Rule, Brady Rule, Extended Goal posts, Funky Formations... and now deflating balls.

I must be just a coincidence that its always the Patriots that are accused of cheating or skirting the rule book, right?

Not gonna lie, I'd rather keep are reputation as "A Thug Organization" than be labelled as cheater.

Except that it's not just one guy...  it's everybody stating it...  Including officials stating that the balls were  weighed.

I'll go back and look, but I believe it was FoxSports that reported that the refs were weighing the balls.....

In the article......  "I'm told at one point the officials took a ball out of play and weighed it. Should hear more tomorrow on this subject."

Also...  the article states that the delay at the beginning of the 3rd quarter...  was also a possible situation where the refs noticed it too...

It's blowing up on profootballtalk.nbcsports.com

They say the league confirmed the investigation and will release a statement this morning.

There's no possible bad Super Bowl matchup imo.... This is my order of preference.

Packers vs Patriots (Rodgers vs Brady... Two most efficient QB's in NFL history as far as TD/INT ratio.)

Packers vs Colts (Arguably, the two most current unstoppable/intimidating forces at QB.)

Colts vs Seahawks (QB class of 2012 dueling off)

Patriots vs Seahawks (Most two balanced teams from top to bottom. The heavyweights of the league.)

I'm rooting for Pack, but if they can't get it done I hope Indy does.

I should stop doing this lol

I know that the investigation was real, but Momma said that the officials had stated that the balls were lighter - I don't see anyone reporting that.

I did not say that....  I said that the officials had pulled one off the field at the beginning of the 3rd quarter, weighed it and changed it out...  I never said it was lighter....  It was foxsports, and yahoosports both of them.....  I posted the link.

The post was right above.....  please don't misquote me...  that's not nice.  But yes, multiple sources were stating that the ball was lighter.

I read your post on the previous page before, and could swear that it used to say that the officials stated that the balls were "lighter" not that they were "weighed".

Don't know why my post asking for a link, that quoted your original statement, was deleted.  Also, there's ominously an extra space before "weighed":

Except that it's not just one guy...  it's everybody stating it...  Including officials stating that the balls were  weighed.

You sure that didn't say "lighter" before?

It just gets silly at a point, people just hop on some ridiculous reason why a team lost or why the pats are bad guys in every game that matters. I mean deflated balls really? Couldn't you at least try and do better than that?

what if it's proven true?

Not gonna come up with hypothetical scenarios, if it is true then i'll talk about it then. The whole thing stinks and is quite an obvious ploy to frame the pats with something so juvenile and unimportant. If you check out the pats forum thread on it theres a lot of information explaining all this bunk. I only saw the first page of it so I dont know whats beyond that but you can get some good info there.

What about the fact that that Seattle defense is a game away from doing what no other defense-heavy team has done in the last 40 years? They're already better than the Baltimore Ravens D of 2000 in a lot of people's minds....

Also not sure how rooting for NE has anything to do with Ravens loyalty.

Wait what? Comparing this good Seattle D to one of the top 2 of all time is extremely laughable. It's going to be funny when New England exposes them and drops 40 on them. It's quite clear Baltimore and New England were the best all around teams in the playoffs and it's not really close.
