Well since Red Sox fans are typically Patriots fans, I think I will go with Pats fans.

lol. from an organizational standpoint we're Pittsburgh's more handsome younger brother and we're the kid from the other side of the tracks with a heart of gold that ultimately ends up with the girl the patriots were dating at the beginning of the story.

the steelers rivalry is like siblings...it's forever. the patriots rivalry is couched in fear. mainly their fear that the end of their reign is nigh, and we will be the ones to nail the coffin.

About 15 years ago I had great respect for the Pats and none for the Steelers.  Now its the opposite.  I give the Steelers their just due as worthy rivals.  The Patriots, even for all thier wins, trickery, cheating and future HOF QB, I think its Brady that ruins it for me.  He has the countence of a spoiled prince.  He talks [profanity deleted] after a win, but not before like a toadie that gets his licks in after someone was already been kicked in the balls and on the ground.  I really dislike the Pats right now and would cheer for the Steelers if they matched up in the play-offs.

I'm glad this thread was finally made, because it highlights a notion that has truly manifested itself over the past few years: Ravens Nation is beginning to hate the Pats more than they hate the Steelers.

Exactly, though it's a temporary thing. When Brady and Belicheat move on, they'll fade back into obscurity and I'll probably end up viewing them in the same way I view the Titans now (meh).

Like others have said, I love to hate the Steelers and I actually respect the organisation and its fans (still love seeing them lose and shutting the fans up, mind). And I'd actually be a bit disappointed if the Steelers became cellar dwellars for too long (be fun for a while, but I'd miss the rivalry meaning something).

A perfect example of his trash talking is when he said "talk to us after we win" to Seattle and LOST. "We're only going to score 17 points" and scored 14. The whole good boy charade is just that. If he didn't put on the act, I'd probaby have more respect for him, but you know he's nothing like what he is on camera.

I do agree with this, Brady is a phony. Peyton Manning seems genuine. Brady, not so much.

Steelers. I would NEVER root for them against the Pats unless if it was the regular season and a Steelers win would benefit us.

nd the final answer is in

I think this is too soon. I HATE the Patriots as much as the next fan, but I DESPISE, DEPLORE, ABHOR the stealers organization. They will always get the "a" in there from me. This last loss sucked but Brady's pompousness afterward is really what is driving me beserk. I hate that guy, but the stealers are unbearable.

I agree wholeheartedly. My hate for the Steelers will Long outlast Bradys run with the patriots. I am hoping with every fiber of my being that anybody but the patriots win the Super Bowl. Brady's time is ticking in this league and I I suspect that the patriots will go on sucking for a while after that. To me, it doesn't matter how good or how bad the Steelers are in any given season, I'm going to hate them.

I feel like this poll would be drastically different if we took it back in November after the 2nd game.

Honestly when it comes down to it, I am happier beating the Steelers in their place than I am beating NE in NE although honestly I would love to do both lol

A matter of respect should be part of the conversation.  Certainly, I admire the Steelers for their gritty tough players, coaches and especially Ben. I respect them.  I have acquired a select hate for the Pats as they have the coaches and players we cannot pay tribute to.   They are the ones that annoy me the most.  I keep fans out of this issue as the question only relates to these teams.

One fans' hate towards another should not determine the football coaching and player quality of these teams.

I think i HATE the Pats fans more than i hate the Pats honestly. Its so unreal how oblivious they are.

I actually respect Pittsburgh. I hate to say this, but years from now if my grandchildren ask me who was one of my favorite Qbs it'd be Ben.... Tough to type.

I hate Brady. I loved when Ray hit him in the playoffs they got up Ray looked at him roared "WHAT!!!"

Both of the two of 'em.  lol

No question, the patsies.  My squealer hate has subsided a bit since ward retired.

tommie :argh:  is the anti christ, the enemy of anything and anyone good in the NFL.

Yea  I think we get caught up in the loyalty of our teams.  I was so sick of the game and felt anxiety levels that should be case study.  I thought a heart attack was coming on how frustrated I became when that that game turned.  I dislike the players but also realized our secondary was clueless and that set me off to a new adventure in high blood pressure.  I just state my view   I respect yours too.

I love the Pittsburgh Rivalry so my hate for them is a tempered indulgence. The team I love to hate. I look forward to every matchup.

As for the Patriots - They need an exorcism or/and enigma for them go back to a team that I would ever respect.

I dislike them equally for very different reasons.

I dislike the the Steelers more than the patriots mostly because of their fans.  When you read steelers forums, the fans are barely literate, trash talking, small minded individuals.  Every steelers fan that I have ever met has been ghetto thug to the max or backwoods redneck imbred.  Quarterback wise, I hate tom brady though... He is a smug pathetic person... At least Rothlisberger is one hell of a tough guy.

Steelers. I hugely respect BB and love watching NE play other teams. I can respect them. I can never not hate a team with that had Hines Ward and Harrison.

I don't like the Patriots fanbase, but I gotta say the Steelers. Hating the Steelers was a big part of my "become a Ravens fan" process.

For me it is the Steelers hands down. If nothing else, their bandwagon seems to be waay bigger here in Md and you can't go a day without seeing someone adorning soot and pee colors to remind you.

Still Steelers. New England will be irrelevant when Brady leaves and the bandwagon disappears.

Yeah, he'll need a bandwagon to carry all his trophies... And I'm sure Ravens will be totally relevant when Flacco departs. Cool logic.

I have absolutely NO respect for the Patriots franchise, their owner, their head coach, the majority of their players, their QB or their tainted legacy. They are a disgrace to the honor of those that have played a fair and honest game throughout the history of this sport.  They are a disgustingly classless franchise imo!

Patriots by far... Ive always hated them and their QB who gets up and whines to the officials everytime a finger is laid on him. Pats fans and the organisation just irritate the hell out of me. I can at least respect the Steelers and I have a heck of a lot of respect for Big Ben. He's a true football player. The thing that gets to me the most though is how the Pats try to sell themselves of as some kind of moral saints who are a cut above the rest of the league. I dont care about their arrogance, I like a little trash talk. Its that they try to conceal it and make themselves out to humble, thats my biggest gripe. I can name many incidents where they have shown themselves to be the complete opposite when things dont go their way. eg. Bill refusing to do the interview after the loss against us, again when he ran off the field after the first superbowl against the giants, when he was heard cursing to the Jets, grabbing the official...and there are so many more incidents. I dont even know if they understand how hypocritical they are. 'The Patriot Way' = the most bogus slogan in the NFL.

That's like choosing between Chlamydia or genital warts IMO. Both are a thorn in our side, both have annoying fans, and both have multiple Superbowls. Personally I respect the Steelers far more than the obnoxious Patriots and their elitist, pretentious fan base, but the Steelers are in our division so I have to go with the Steelers first, Pats next.

Lmao. Interesting analogy...
