The thread explosion and merges are getting difficult to follow. Let's try to organize these discussions by position groups, at least.

Despite us taking advantage of him in 2012 Rahim Moore is a good FS that might not demand too much .Although he might not get along with Jacoby

CB Rashean Mathis...yes he is old but he played exceptional this year for a dominant Lions secondary. He graded out as a top 12 CB per PFF. He could come for cheap too.

Jeron Johnson from the Seahawks looked good cap wise and play, but only 5' 10" - I don't know. He plays bigger. Gotta' keep scouting, but I like when they come from similiar cultures like Hawks.

That's great possibility at the right cap, but we may need someone alittle younger.

He could be a target because he's a quality ST guy.  He would at least still provide some value to the team if he's not the answer at S.

I'd be fine with this addition. He makes a lot of sense from a value perspective, IMO.

Kareem Jackson is another guy I like, maybe he can play the nickle as well, young and never got to his full potential with injuries.

Byron Maxwell is an interesting prospect. He's got good size at 6'1/207 and still young at 26. Would give us a dynamic look and options with Jimmy/Webb. He may be a luxury Seattle cannot afford and could come to us at a decent price.

Keeping Will Hill should be the main priority though. He really changed how the secondary looked w/ his pure playmaking abilities and I feel he's a true piece to build around.

For those who are saying Byron Maxwell, is he really gonna leave Seattle? I'm not so sure. But then again...it's just my opinion. What do I know....

Well, considering the Seahawks want to make Wilson the league's highest paid QB and the fact that he's overshadowed by Sherman, Thomas, and Chancellor, the Seahawks may not have the cap and he may be looking for a place to get more recognition. I think the Seahawks could be okay letting him go since Jeremy Lane played a good bit.

Chancellor or Earl Thomas prototype. We need an enforcer in the middle.

Well in that case, Taylor Mays seems to be available this offseason if you want a thumper lolz.

Good point. I completely forgot that Wilson has to be paid.

If Seahawks win it again this season, no way they have the cap to keep the band together. Wilson is coming off his rookie contract already with a SB ring and if he gets another, forget about it. I see that DB group getting separated in 2015

The system they have up there just makes DB's look far better than they are. I mean, you have to have some talent, but they're really just masking so many deficiencies.

Again, that's not to say I don't think they could survive outside of Seattle, but let's not pretend it doesn't help quite a bit, either.

Other than maybe maxwell I think the fa CBs are not much to write home about. A ballhawk or enforcer would be cool to take back air space dominance like with Reed and Pollard. Hill I would like to keep to pair up with a ball hawk or big striker who is decent in coverage and a sure tackler.

Eitherway, I doubt we would fit the bill for the price of anyone coming from Seattle anyway...

Seattle isn't full of super star DB's. I'd argue that Thomas is the only true super star there. Again, I think they're all helped immensely by scheme out there. I don't think any of them would be quite the same on a new team

Is that a joke?

Its easy to say they are all helped by scheme, and I wouldn't totally disagree, but theres tons of talent there. Chancellor/Sherman/Thomas are all stars, plus they have a great pass rush.

Maxwell took over for Browner and there hasn't been any drop off, and Browner is very solid for NE. With Maxwell's size/speed/ability/youth and development in a winning organization, he's a very interesting potential target for us.

I'd argue that Sherman and Chancellor would see a definite drop off if they were not in Seattle. I really believe Thomas is the only super star out there. Again, they have a very strong, creative scheme in the secondary that just rotates so many pieces and gives so many looks and on top of that, as you pointed out, they have a strong pass rush. I think Sherman is the most overrated DB in the league, but that's just me. Actually, toss up between him and Peterson.

Maxwell probably actually played better than Browner ever did in Seattle. I thought Maxwell was better than Browner when Browner was there, so I don't see why there would have been a drop off. I'd argue Browner is only solid. He's nothing special and he's certainly not in his Seattle form. I'd very much like to go after Maxwell, personally

Quintin Demps is a free agent this year.I think having Demps and Hill as a tandem at saftey would be good enough to get us to the superbowl.Having a good safety tandem is almost as important as having an upper echelon QB if you want to win the SB.When you look at who the previous 15 or so winner have had at safety that becomes very apparent.Just look at the tandem we had the year we won.A good safety tandem would also make our CB's look better.Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor are the reason why anybody Seattle plugs in at CB looks so good. They're athletic af and they're both great tacklers.Anytime someone tries to test the seahawks deep Thomas is always in position to make a play. And if you do make a catch Kam will be right there waiting to lay the BOOM on you. They're freaking playmakers!Nobody in our group of safties really stood out as a playmaker besides Will Hill.Terrance Brooks showed some potential but that injury is going to set his career back until late 2015 or maybe until 2016.The point of my long long post is,we desperately need a safety with some ball skills like Demps has and I think he can be signed for a reasonable amount of money. We should try to lure him to Baltimore with a contract of about $3-4 million per year. That sounds respectable for a player of his caliber and if we can get Yanda and Ngata to lower their cap numbers that $3-4 million figure would'nt hurt us at and would probably be well worth it.
