Ravens Signings and Re-signings (actual and speculation)

brown is not bad at all.

would battle for the 3rd spot.

Brown had a down year last year but The Raiders were pretty bad when it came to pressuring the quarterback. Brown brings a totally different skill set from Kyle Arlington  since he's more of a outside cornerback than nickel and he's taller as well. The Ravens must not have alot of faith in Melvin and the other young cornerbacks but you can never have too many cornerback,

I really doubt Brown comes here and I expect for him to go to a team that wiil give him better shot at being a starter.

true but dont forget that Webb is pretty good in the slot and thus brown can come in and play outside with jimmy and the webb slides to the slot.

we used  him this way before and he played great.

will depend on his mobility though

That would defeat the prupose of us signing Kyle Arington...

I agree, you can not have enough decent CB's. Ozzie makes sure that past problems are corrected the following season. I respect that very much!

We sure are attacking the CB position this off season.

1.Jimmy-All-Pro Caliber

2. Webb- Good

3. Kyle-Very good Slot CB

4. Melvin- Good outside CB, still needs experience

5. Vaughn- Average

6. Asa- Average to decent

7. Walker-Unknown, probably sucks this year

We have good CB depth already. Not sure about signing another, who are we gonna cut if we sign Brown? Asa? He's a potential return man.

Not at all

We signed Kyle to be our nickle-back. Not to be a backup. We paid too much money for  backup.

think it's more so not having faith in our corners staying healthy. Our FO gambled on our guys being healthy and it cost us a trip to a Super Bowl. They recognize the window we have right now, no use repeating mistakes

Best players play and he would still have plenty of opportunities

The best player will play and brown is a better CB then arrington.

also given jimmy and webb history with injuries you cant ever have to many quality CBs tbh.

arrington cant play outside and well melvin  got exposed real bad so yeah we are still 1 injury away from having a huge downgade at CB.

I would say Asa as it stands. The idea of adding Brown and having that much corner depth is exciting.

looking back at last year, i think Ozzie was like, we were 1-2 CBs away from a SB berth, so that's why he added & will add good depth across the board, especially DBs, remember that 2 14 points lead still stinging FO.

If we were to sign Brown, I may stand alone with this but I think Vaughn is the odd man out. I feel like Asa is a talented young guy that has potential at CB and as a RS.

Yeah, if the fans notice a problem there's a good chance the FO knows about it too. It's good that we've got some solid depth now.

He'd likely be the fifth corner and probably wouldn't beat out Camp for the RS job. Rosburg said the returner should have a role on offense or defense and Camp is probably more likely to see snaps than Asa. In any case, if Brown gets signed, I see Vaughn as gone

Would be a classic Ozzie signing

Jimmy

Webb

Brown

Arrington

Melvin

Walker

Hill

Lewis

Brooks

Levine

Elam

Potentially very solid secondary

Brown is an average veteran CB at this point in this career.  I'd take him in Baltimore, solid depth.  He was excellent back in and 2011 and 2012.

So we paid Arrington millions to a backup?

he's gonna play significant snaps for sure, u can never have to many CBs, and u saw last year how close we were from SB. so......

dont forget our top 2 CBs have injury concerns, so.....

since they mentioned the ravens were intersted, some team might panic and sign him before we do.

Asa's problem is he cant stay healthy, that's Y ozzie is signed arrington and vaughan, he doesn't want make the mistake of relying brown and asa like he did last year.

I agree I wouldn't blink an eye if Jackson was cut for a proven veteran who can provide some depth. We can find a returner from the WR corps.

Not only has Asa never been fantastic but he's had enough time to show what he's got, he has had suspensions, and alot of injuries.

Asa is def. on the hotseat.

He's made a play here and there. He hasn't been terrible imo, he's just been hurt and suspended , but maybe you guys expectations for him were high. I wasn't/still not expecting him to be a contributor, but from very limited snaps he's made a few plays here and there.

I wanna know why Terrell Brown would say the Ravens are interested in him, but not divulge the other three

I agree, it makes little sense unless he's trying to stir the pot and drive up his price somewhat.

I'd say that's exactly what he's trying to do and that two of the other teams are probably the Patriots and Steelers.
