Ravens Signings and Re-signings (actual and speculation)

I probably would've paid him close to that deal he got when he didn't count against our compensatory picks, but not before. I actually think he could do well in Oakland. I like their QB.

I like Carr as well, but he's still a 2nd year qb.  Interesting how he will most likely have a better career than his brother did as a Texan.  They just neglected that Oline and it basically got him killed.

If Sam Bradford doesn't do anything in Philly, I'd add him to that list as well, Rams O-line has been bad for quite a while

Crabtree doesn't have a clue and I'm not saying that because he didn't sign here, I fully expected him not to. But if you take a "prove it" deal you gotta put yourself in a position to produce more than you did last year. I like Derek Carr, I think he has a bright future, but that's just not an offense that is going to produce big numbers for a wide out. I mean that's a team that was in garbage time a lot last year and their top wr didn't go over 700 yds. He would be lucky to match his yardage total from his last year with SF that killed his market value.. I just don't see how the Raiders propel his mission to get paid in 2016.

I think Miami was probably the best spot for him, he would be looking at a lot more volume in their offense with Wallace and Clay out of the picture. I mean Wallace was generally considered a failure in Miami and he still put up nearly 1000 yds in 2013 and 10 TD's in 2014. Crabtree's plan was clearly to put up numbers this year so he can cash in next offseason, the guy is chasing the money and I don't blame him for that but Oakland has to be one of the worst teams in the league for a wr looking to stuff the stat sheet even with an emerging Derek Carr.

hey, hey now.  tommie is not a girl.  He is a cheating, crying, scum bag sissy.

...that can't throw a baseball 60 ft. Maybe they couldn't find a way to let air out of the ball. There, finished it for ya.

Melvin could be our next Cary Williams: a big physical UDFA cornerback who is good but not great. I think he could be a decent #3.

I liked the comparison to Cary Williams too...mainly with him being a long corner who was undrafted with not very high expectations... the thing here tho is this, to me there is one glaring difference between Cary Williams and Melvin...Cary Williams is not scared and plays the game with a serious chip on his shoulder and will not back down for anyone...this is the only reason I wanted him back this off season, at the very least you are going to get a guy that wont back down or put his tail between his legs in crunch time....not saying Melvin doesn't have this side to him..I just haven't seen it yet

They've still got to cut him first, don't they? Maybe they draft a young guy and release Vernon after, but I don't see us trying to do a "reverse Boldin" with the 9ers for Davis.

I think we will trade for a tight end after the draft and he will be one of the guys we look at. If he's cut that would be even better. Not sure but we will be adding veteran depth at the position one way or the other.

Yeah, and there's no shame in getting picked on by Brady.

True but the way it happened was hard for any athlete. He was banged up and the Pats knew and just kept going after him and thee was nothing Melvin could do.

Yeah, his Raiders deal is ~$3M minimum and can get up to $5M through incentives, reportedly. The exact figures of the base/incentive are a little different depending on source.

Wait, Rashaan got hurt too? Man, our secondary was snake bitten last year. And the year before it was the WRs. We'd have beaten the Pats if we could have kept half those guys healthy.

Jimmy and Terrence Brooks would've changed the game completely. Brooks was probably our second best safety and Jimmy would've shut down Edelman.

Trawick... Really? Smh

Quality special teams player who won't see the field on defense. What's the issue?

And if you're going to doubt the importance of special teams, see the 2010 Chargers

If Jimmy never went down we could've been in that game against Seattle.

Why was he even tendered? Is Morgan cox not coming back? Wasn't scales average at best when cox was injured?

Must be just insurance for Morgan's ACL injury. He may start the season on PUP.

Agreed. Competition for Cox as well I suppose.
