Ravens Signings and Re-signings (actual and speculation)

I can't believe some people holding one play against Rahim Moore as if great players, like Ed or Ray, never made big mistakes or had big learning curves early

point out a similar colossal mistake Ray and Ed made that's comparable. I will wait

Ed Reed stopped tackling people 5 years ago...but he would of made that play. Just don't depend on him to wrap a guy up.

As for Ray, can't think of one.

Rahim Moore has come on a lot since that play and I'm surprised Ozzie hasn't taken a look at him especially considering he was a player he wanted to take when he was coming out in the draft and how bad our safety situation is outside of Hill. Would love to take a look at him especially since he's young too.

Even if those two didn't make colossal mistakes like Rahim Moore. Does that really mean Moore can't improve? Like can a human being not be better now than his yesterdays.

I'm really reluctant to spend on Browner. I also think I'm in a very small minority but I don't see CB as a huge need. It's certainly a need but not as pressing as safety. Communication on the back end is far more serious. Moore would be an excellent edition to the team over Browner, imo. I've advocated for him for some time.

Well, if that small minority includes Ozzie Newsome, then that is all that really matters.

He definitely seemed to indicate that he was not as concerned as others seemed to be in the State of the Ravens presser. However, he is assuming a healthy Smith and Webb ... but the other thing he pounded on was the need for depth. I think we'll be looking at a CB in FA, but not a notable name. He'll be looking for better depth options that what we had last year.

I'm looking for one FA pickup that's an upgrade over the likes of Jackson and the rest of the crew and another in the draft

I agree - safety is a better place to spend and I do think Moore would be an upgrade over anyone of our existing safeties.

I'm pretty sure it was real minimal. He's signed for depth possible a dime DB or is just a camp body that will get cut in training camp.

He's not a "camp body" at all.. Dude could be getting significant playing time next year

Brandon Browner is in New Orleans for a visit. Washington, Baltimore, Cleveland, Jacksonville also interested.

Would be nice, if we could land him.

I think he is going to be a bit out of our price range and he makes a lot of mistakes. Also, I don't know how many moves Ozzie is going to make at CB since he likes what we have. He'll most likely draft one.

Definitely see us signing a vet prolly similar to Corey graham situation

I dunno, our best guys are very injury prone.

We signed Jacoby after his muffed punt in that playoff game against us. We're not adverse to bringing in a guy like that but we probably will not because Moore would count against us in comp picks, Jones did not because he was cut.

I meant that in regards to what we paid him real minimal. If Jimmy, Webb, Asa, and Melvin all come back and play well he's just depth. If we draft a CB or sign a vet I think Levine is ST only if not cut. If Asa gets hurt or Webb cut then Levine will play a lot.

I agree but our back-ups that got a few game reps this past year will have the offseason, OTA's, training camp, and preseason to get it together. It will make a big difference, especially since they are all so young. I'm not as concerned about our secondary (except for Elam, lol) as I am about our TE's

I would normally agree but while we made some room with trading Ngata, I think that we have more pressing needs, especially with the "depth" that we have when everyone is healthy. I don't want to jinx it but it seems highly improbable that what we encountered in our secondary can happen two years in a row. (I feel like I should delete this last sentence...)

I'd say we definitely need another CB unless ultimate plan is to get Elam or brooks playing more slot CB if we sign a safety

Ravens looking to sign a TE from within in the division, Cameron or Gresham.

If they didn't keep McPhee. Why pay more and sign Browner? Not gonna happen.

Because we have depth at DL but not DB? Duh...?

That's not going to happen. Levine is very good on ST and last season he showed he can provide good depth as a DB.

Just helping out...

I wonder what would be Knighton's cost, he's a good player and only 28yo.

I have no idea on cost, but I'd love to get him. What was his last contract for?
